Decent horror-short.
Nothing special, but worth the current asking price.

This is an entertaining piece and it's quite clear that the cast and crew put some solid technical skills and effort into creating a thrilling, suspenseful short film that leave the viewer with just enough unanswered questions. Excellent lighting, too!

What if someone stumbled upon a mystery, but they refused to investigate? Not much of interest, as this movie tediously shows.
The ideas are nudged your way but never fleshed out. You never get the satisfaction of getting any more insight. It's just concentraited weirdness that hints on something being fundamentally amiss with out naive understanding of the fabric of reality, but never goes to explain how eldritch horrors relate to it.
The protagonist just... doesn't care enough. One would think that with a life so seemingly empty, she'd jump at the first opportunity to sate curiosity and embark on an adventure, but she never does. Unless her hand is forced by immediate causes in her environment, stuff doesn't really bother her to stay awake at night or... do much of anything.
I guess many such anticlimactic stories "happen" to unsuspecting denizens of fiction; it's just that content creators don't usually "report" back to us on these.
I barely got my money's worth out of getting this... I bought it for $0.56 :|.
On a positive note - I enjoyed the toast scene. It had no real impact on the story, but there was something satisfying about watching (and listening to!) the protagonist handle toast in a very brighly lit, immaculate kitchen.
If you've ever shouted "No, don't go there!", "No, just ignore that!", "No, turn around and just leave!" at overly inquisitive horror characters, this is the movie for you.

Short enough to be suspenseful and make you wonder what happens next, plus the actors and video quality are pretty great! That Cthulhu medal thing is pretty cool, too. I'd wear that like all the time if I had one.

It cost my 50 cents, but I feel like I wasted my 12 minutes. It was well shot, but the story, concepts, and tensions were pretty predictable and felt like rehashes of Twilight Zone or Outer Limits bits. I didn't even feel like the Lovecraftian links were very good.
Regardless, well shot with great sound.

Not bad for a short film. I thought the color pallete was thematiclly correct. I thought the shots were very thoughtful. I am going to assume this was shot on a RED. That's pretty impressive in and of itself. The sound design was sympathetic to the story. I never felt like something didn't belong.
The technical aspects of this short are encuraging to people like myself who would one day love to have the ability to make a piece of art like this.
The story was indeed not very developed, but I don't now how much you can flesh out in 12 minutes. Overall, this felt very much like a treatment or a proof of concept for something much larger and more nuanced.
I'm into it. I hope there is a full version in the works.

"Hit & Run" is a 12 minute film, basically with two actors. It's the story of a brother who wakes up his sister to tell her he "thinks" he was involved in a hit and run. A peculiar medallion is found at the scene.
That's almost not a summary. I do understand the point of a 12 minute film. Basically the purpose of a film this short is to start a thought growing in the mind of the viewer, to be completed by that viewer over time in whatever manner they find most engaging or fulfilling. Essentially, a different film for every viewer. I've watched about 3,000 films, and I know something about the art of filmmaking. I've seen this technique work well many times.
But in every successful instance the ideas placed in the gears of the viewers' mind were new, interesting concepts, or presented in a compelling way. The reason the successful short film continues in the mind is because the viewer wants more of whatever intriguing new idea began percolating in their imagination. Unfortunately, I saw nothing in "Hit & Run" that I haven't seen, literally, dozens of times. The acting was adequate, the actors were attractive. The film was well made. (I would have preferred that the patches on the policeman's uniform were attached better.) For a film this short, the character development of the sister in the opening scene, short as it was, was time subverted from what may have been better used to develop horror or suspense. In this sort of film, seconds count. That’s the point, to waste nothing. It’s a very difficult task to achieve success, and can be more difficult than making a longer film.
I have no desire to be cruel, or to try to be funny. The people involved with this film are serious, passionate filmmakers, and I sincerely wish I had something better to say than I hope they will learn and grow from this endeavor. But that is what I have to say, and I mean it truly. "Hit & Run", at 12 minutes, was too long. Or, too short and lacking. The only mystery was the wait for an original concept. “Hit & Run” should not be offered for a price. The next one, I dare say will be different.
Thank you.
