TLDR/PSA: Ok so people don't seem to understand something fundamental about Steam reviews so I'm gonna have to add this TLDR/PSA. Steam reviews are not a ranking system. They are not a 1/5 star system or a % system. Steam Reviews are a "Recommendation System" the question that a Steam Review is supposed to answer is "Do I recommend this game or not". I think this DLC is a decent DLC, I think it is perfectly fine and I did enjoy some of it, it is a solid 6~7/10 but that's not the question, Steam is not asking me what I give this DLC out of 10. Steam wants to know "Regardless of what I gave it as a ranking, do I recommend this to others?" and the answer to that is no. Hell I can enjoy a game like Pathalogic but I would never recommend it because not everyone is going to like that kind of game, I'm willing to force myself through the worst parts of it but I would not expect others to do the same nor do I think you should. I'm trying to be as objective as possible to help you decide whether or not you should buy this.
This DLC does not add anything substantial to the game, does not change the game and does not add anything narratively. You absolutely do not need to play this DLC to get the "Full experience".
So no, I do no recommend this DLC, I do not think you should buy it, at least not at full price even though I still think it is technically perfectly okay, it's not good enough to be worth buying.
Original Review: I'm gonna give this a no even though I do like it and I would personally give it a 7/10 I think the fact that I just finished it and less than 5% of players have received the final achievement just goes to show. I also did all the side content except 1 (Basically you have to collect a bunch of a certain item so like deserter scalps and all those other collectathons in the base game, miss me with that) and I got an achievement for the last side quest I did that less than 2% of people have.
Point is I think I gave this a fair shot so when I say this DLC is a mess, I think you can see it comes from a place of love. The DLC is fundamentally good, it is more of the base game and we get a whole new story that while lacking any real connection to the main story is still decent and fitting for the setting.
My biggest issues are travelling and the point of the story. Travelling is garbage, you get 1 teleporter in the starting section and from then on you have to use these fish doors that take you between closed off areas, the travel gets very frustrating and boring over time, often you need to go through multiple fish doors to get to where you need to go. Oh and you need to unlock these doors first each having a Fable talking door style request like a good meal or for someone to care about them etc. That parts fine but travel in general should be easier. Oh and you're on foot, no mounts here bucko.
Then there's the story, I did say I like the story but the story is completely self contained. And I don't mean that I expected this to have an impact on the main story I mean this doesn't feel like it was ever connected to the main game at all, it feels like a DLC that just got tacked on to the side of the game. We get introduced to new characters doing a thing in a place with other new characters doing new things. There is no connection other than Merlin and Arthur having had something to do with it all. No mention in the base game to make you curious about what happened and then boom here you get to see what happened but also, the ending kinda hit me outta nowhere. You need to make a choice, the choice is not well set up at all.
Spoilers from here on out though I'll try to keep the as small as possible: Basically the choice boils down to destroy this pseudo Atlantis and set everyone free but they will also be at the mercy of the wider world so many may not survive long while at the same time raising the fleet of ships Arthur had brought with him from the homeworld, or leave everything as is, everyone stays safe in a nice and peaceful little Atlantis and we all move on with our lives.
Ok so beyond the morality of freeing to potentially let die or keeping contained to ensure safety, what's this about raising the fleet? Yea well that's not established. You do learn about the ships that sunk and why, you're told by Arthur that while he wishes this place could stay as is you may need to ruin it to get the ships. What do we need the ships for? Stuff. What benefits do we get from raising the fleet? Well uh it's a fleet so it can do fleet stuff I guess, stop asking questions! The whole thing isn't well set up. We don't get to have a chat where Arthur goes "Man if we had that Fleet we could do XYZ, I could fix everything I just know it!" or something along those lines. Instead we get "Yea, could be useful I guess". So I chose to leave everything as is, basically pretend like we were never even there to see how he would react and you know how he reacts? "That was a nice thing you did, I'm a bit bummed cuz we could've used that fleet but ah well, no biggie" what is the point? If you want me to care about the Fleet, make me care about the Fleet, give me a reason as to why we need the fleet, when I get to the end make it clear that there are pros and cons for each choice, that's what makes a choice worthwhile but here it's just do nothing and nothing bad happens, in fact it's actually kinda a good thing or do a kinda bad thing that may or may not end up being good in the long term. It's just really disappointing.

I liked this DLC. The story is nice and the levels offer something interesting and fun that fits in the lore but is totally unique. I personally didn't love the underwater asthetic by the end, just got a little tired of how samey it looks. And I wish a lot of the QoL improvements like glowing loot and such would exist in the base game. Neverthless, I can fully recommend this if you enjoy the basegame. There is a lot of fun here and it is totally worth it.

A steal for 15 bucks. A self contained story and location which is sized roughly as the base game act. Has the same positives/negatives from the base game but I would say the overall art shines better here.

This DLC is so much fun. I love the setting, goofy and dark themed zone. Having a blast playing it, I highly recommended it.

The problem with this DLC is that it promises a whole new area to explore (and delivers on it) and then everywhere you go looks essentially the same with minor color differences. The DLC itself is cool and the design is unique even despite what I previously said. By the end of the DLC I never wanted to see another sea based creature design or area ever again though. Looking at the DLC makes my mouth foam with sea water and drown.
If you HATED Pirates of the Caribbean, then this DLC isn't for you (and you hate fun) but otherwise it's good.

What a great DLC, lots of content and the price is more than fair!
Cool new enemies to fight, more difficult (at the start) but also rewarding.
The story itself is good, not on the level like the main game but still good with lots of decisons to do.
I didn't expect the DLC to be so big, it nearly has the size of it's own act with tons of exploration.
I can warmly recommend it to anyone!
