WOW, this is bad. The dialogue is needlessly endless, but the "tutorial" tells you nothing. You're locked into starting your town "near water" but, inevitably, you won't, because the screen doesn't start you RIGHT NEXT to water, and the controls to move the screen around are off-balance, and mostly non-functional. Like, you can SORT OF scroll left by just moving your cursor as far left of your screen as it will go... but you'll only scroll SLOWLY. You can do that to the right, but it will be somehow, MORE SLOWLY. You can zoom out, but it stays centered, and doesn't zoom out much, and then still you can't move the screen around the map well. At a certain point, it just won't work. I entered the keybind menu to see what I could do to change that, and the entire game froze up, and the only way to exit the menu was to force-quit the game. I've played buggy games but, JFC they were at least playable. This... kind of is not. The map issues are just - so bad. Like, you can build your first house/three houses, but you have to select trees. The scale is off; there are like, 3 trees per many many spaces/yards/walking distance for the villages/whatever. They look close but they are not. You can zoom in, then you can't see what to select, it's out of view range. From far away, you're selecting stuff MILES apparently from villagers. You can build structures, but there are red dots precluding building on surfaces - you can't tell what the heck that is, what's causing it. There's nothing to gather, no "flatten" stuff in the menu, and nothing you can see. You're left just, blindly moving (slowly) and rotating (I figured that out but without any help) your buildings until they are green and can be built. You have NO CLUE via scale whether you're building them without leaving space for a road, or with WAY TOO MUCH space, for roads between them. They look far apart, but also they are as close as they can be built legally? It just, visually makes no sense. and scrolling out/in does NOT help, per the above. Nothing really tells you where it's smart to build, or inefficient to build, or why.
I found this in my library searching for something else, and saw I had achievements on this, and was close to 100% and thought maybe I would finish it.
HOW!? HOW do I have achievements on this!?!?!
Maybe it USED to work? It might have been an early access game that was abandoned.
Honestly, sometimes I think, "I could probably fart out a dumb, barely functional game and earn some $$ on Steam from those (like me) who buy things in early access without inspecting much" too - and then I think, I don't want to be that person. I just wish I could remember the same when I stupidly BUY something in early access that I quickly realize is NOT great and likely to be abandoned. I guess, at least it's $2.99 right now? God knows what I paid for it though. :( I wish Steam would refund crap like this, or just, f**** early access games being not free. I get that for some it's the way to earn $ for development but for MOST it's basically like a scammy non-functional subscription app in the app store. By the time people realize it's crap they have already paid for it.

I like that it is straight forward. A lot of the gameplay is similar to other games such as Age of Empires, and such. However, unless I'm missing something in the play, it does go slow. Even with the gameplay sped up, it feels really odd that it can take me 3-4 game days to get one building built. As everything needs so much, you need a lot of villagers cutting down trees. But no ones doing that (except foresters) if a building is in progress. So you have to wait for the completed construction before regaining wood again. Again, maybe there's something in the gameplay I'm missing that allows the player to get past this fault and get ahead in the game faster, but I haven't found it yet.
