Liftoff is the perfect game for learning to fly in real time with multi-rotors, it helped me a lot and it's fun to learn all aspects without the cost of crashes.. Recommend it for every new pilot!!

I don't usually write reviews, but this extraordinary simulator deserves it.
As an Assetto Corsa enthusiast, I bought this game on sale at Steam Racing Fest because it looked interesting. I knew nothing about drones and therefore didn't expect much.
What I got is one of the purest racing experiences ever. The adrenaline rush of shooting through the forest at over 100 km/h, just inches away from trees, is incomparable. The acceleration, the maneuverability—unmatched.
Compared to classic car racing, drone racing literally has a new dimension, which creates a special dynamic and takes the fun factor to a new level.
At the same time, it requires enormous skill to fly a drone at its limits, as all six degrees of freedom have to be operated simultaneously and the required input for all axes is constantly changing. In comparison, car racing seems like child's play.
Learning to fly a drone is very challenging and requires frustration tolerance, but it's amazing how much progress you make as a beginner. While at the beginning you can't even fly straight without crashing, after just a few hours you become a smooth operator (but still crash often).
By the way, I use a normal gamepad (Wii U Pro Controller), which – unlike what some people have described here – works very well for me.
