The gameplay is simplistic and boring, the levels are repetitives, and the entire game is boring overall.

This is mediocre for several reasons 1) 4 types of enemies with indistinguishable health 2) boring repetititve gameplay 3) no rewardimg for stalth kills, rage kills and such 4) crappy sory with some parts missing at all. could be really solid if you'd your mind to it 5) no explosives 6) no actual upgrades, if you pick a pistol, you have to BUY RIFLE AGAIN. WHAT IN THE NAME OF GREAT SCOTCH So, don't waste your time nor money, 2/10

I got this game forever ago and I didn't hate it I got stuck on the last level as I didn't have enough money to have an arms war with the enemies I fought so make sure you are careful with money, but the thing I love most about the game is the character perspective because not being able to see into rooms that you arent in is a really appealing thing to look at and makes a nice challenge. All in all remember that this is a cheap game with a massive diffculty spike a $3 story and pretty neat gameplay. So go watch a video on it before you buy it and have a lovely day. ^+^

if you liked gunpoint, then this game is nothing like gunpoint. go play gunpoint again instead. i did not enjoy the gameplay, the writing was poor and the equipment purchasing was either poorly designed or bugged out. i bought some glasses, i took them off, i could not put them back on - i guess all your items are disposable. be careful with that if you play this.

Pros: -Art is decent, yet often somewhat bland and lacking. -Plot is alright. -Simplistic design. Cons: -Most of the music is terrible. -No options/settings menu. -Levels are laid out terribly, most look very bland and are confusing, if not frustrating to manuveur through. -Animations are horrible, and look very poorly done. -Poor transition through levels, very similar to Gunpoint, with a grading screen at the end of the levels. -Combat is poor, you can either stand still or squat down and shoot. Your oppenent simply stands up. Most of the combat consists of this. You continusly fire your gun until you die, or the other guy does, then you move on. There is almost nothing fun about it. -Most the audio isn't very good, most notably the gunshot sound effect. -Upgrades are unessesary for gameplay, due to the poor combat mechanics. If this game looks intresting to you, get Gunpoint. It is a much better game and is only slightly more expensive. Do not buy this game as an alternivitve to Gunpoint. If you have already played Gunpoint, this game will be an even worse experience for you. As a former Gunpoint player, it only took seven minutes of gameplay to establish my point of view on this game and influence me on writing this review. I do not believe playing this game any further will shift my thoughts on this game in a positive way.

It's a Very fun game with an alright story, but a LOT of bugs. I would recommend you get it if it interests you, but be aware that this is an unfinished project of a game. Tips for beginners: 1)Turn off the music. There's a bug in the game that makes all of the soundtracks play at once, it doesn't sound too bad some times, but it's not the most pleasant thing to listen to; 2)In the safehouse go till the farest wall to the right and change your tie to blue for SPEEED (cuz health is for casuals and stealth is non-existent); 3) NEVER get the Silenced Handgun, it does 0 Damage to dogs which can easily one-hit you. P.S.: you can crouch to not die to dogs instantly, but when you stand up you'll die. Oh and when you buy something, you don't get to keep it if you buy something else And most importantly of ALL: the ending is not satisfying at All and Dogs are terrifyingly OP

This is another reason why Gaben needs to grant us the gift of a 'meh' button. tl;dr at bottom. Pro's:

Runs well (I can hear /g/ saying 'no sh*t, it's pixel) but the amount of indie games that have their way with my beautiful resolution and rip 144fps down to 30 is slightly worrying.
Look's good, although the environments aren't much in terms of setting (offices mostly) detail in them is nice, only gripe here is character design is a bit meh, it could be more detailed, I think it'd look a lot better. Same with blood, there's a nice contrast a bit like Sin City but sprays are too similar.
Gameplay is fun, you have limited ammo so need to stab people when possible. But that's it, it's fun but nothing special, people have compared it to hotline miami but I don't really see the correlation apart from the phone calls. Gameplay isn't similar apart from one hit kill on some enemies.
I'll add more when future updates come, now for cons, and why you should wait a bit........

Bugs, I know I said at ran well but there's a few glitches, I've seen a few enemies carry on with their movement patterns despite having two bullets in their posterior lobe. That and the upgrade system is just straight up f*cked, you buy stuff and maybe it'll get added or maybe it'll just eat your hard earned cash. I've also found one where dogs don't die or slide away after killing you but for some reason you stay alive for a few seconds.
It's pretty short so far, I've only played a bit and I'm half way through the 16 contracts, I don't know if there's more to come but I hope so, I know it was only made by three people but if workshop was integrated and levels could be created it'd be a lot more fun. This also makes me think about whether this game is relevant or not when you compare it to Gunpoint, that game's got a tonne of content now and more mechanics than this. I generally had a better time with gunpoint in terms of, well everything; gameplay, graphics, story.
It gets a bit repetitive, it's quite easy if you take the reckless approach (I guess this is how people are comparing to Hotline), and just run in, duck a couple times then stab the guy. Also levels don't really increase in difficulty consistently, I guess it makes a change but some of the earlier ones I player were harder than the later ones (not because of upgrades)
I'd hold off a bit until devs add more stuff/fix sh*t, but give it a chance it did only come out today. tl;dr: wait

List of terrible design decisions: Not putting cover near doors Not implementing some kind of stealthy or just faster way to remove enemies before they shoot you Making the environments extremely samey and void of detail so that they all blur together and make it hard to navigate (also just makes the game boring) Making it completely unclear how much you or your enemies are taking damage Making it unclear how much distance will actually affect your accuracy (because we don't see shots coming from the gun, just bullet holes on walls) Making you repeat skipping the same text box again every time you restart a level Not having some kind of level over text appear (or something) when you kill your target (makes it so there isnt any weight to actually completing your goal. And it doesnt feel like you completed anything because the target goes downs ame as the other enemies) Speaking of that, not giving any indication as to where your target is. The level design will have you going up and down and all around to try and find it, which as I said is hard to do because of the terrible art. Not putting punching in the tutorial (which is an important mechanic because it gets ammo back) Just not being fun or interesting in the slightest on a gameplay or story level Its hard to hate it thought because its so cheap and clearly had work put into it. It feels like something that might have been someones first game or something, which gives it a sort of charm. I think there are a couple of good ideas here but it just didnt reach its potential, resulting in a game that actually feels kinda unfinished. Like there was supposed to be more..

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I thought this was a poorly developed game. The gun combat is made completely useless because, for the majority of the game, you can just walk up to someone and punch them. There's no flow to the combat or any challenge. The upgrade system is pointless. I'm on the last level and I didn't need to buy anything to reach it. I just punched my way through it. Also, if you care about time, I'm on the last level of the game and it took me less than an hour to get there. Maybe 40 minutes? I don't think that that should always factor into the buying of a game, but for those who care, there's that. Here's a video of me playing and basically saying the same thing, if that's your thing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmXOWcw77dM

This game is great! It's very fun! It's a pixel art, side-scrolling shooter in which you play an assassin. I love the artwork in this game. I like how everything is black and white except for the blood. It really reminds me of Hotline Miami. Between missions you have a chance to buy weapons and clothes/armor. At release I noticed a couple minor bugs but the developer has already acknowledged them and says they will be fixed soon. The price seems a tiny bit high at 5 euros, but not by much. The game feels polished. It comes with 15 levels. I hope that more will be added later because the gameplay is quite fun. Please?
