3/5 - It's okay.
In retrospect, I can see that this game is a great platformer game. But playing currently in the year 2025 and already played a ton of platformer games (Ori and the Blind Forest, Pizza Tower, Celeste, Haste). This game feels weak and not a strong contender if you compared it with the current platformer games. Overall, it's still a decent game and I would recommend it to grab it while it's on sale.

Great game, but for some unknown reason it runs at 40 frames. Why? Who the hell knows? Wanted to 100% complete it, but it's near impossible to play it. Might comeback with pc upgrade in future.

I have bought it and have finished it on 360, ps4, and Vita. Now Im trying to finish it on pc. I guess in the end of the day, I like Super Meat boy a lot, despite all the rage it has caused me over the years.
I just dont think there will be another platformer with such precise and smooth controls and such good level design like this game. The difficulty is tough but fair, and the more you play this game, the more you master its mechanics.
Visually, the newgrounds era of 2d graphics are nostalgic and the music is pretty catchy.
Super Meat boy is a classic. Its a must play, if you are looking for some hardcore 2d platformer action.

I'm not kidding when I say Super Meat Boy may be the hardest game I've ever played. It's probably also the best platformer I've played (not counting games like Hollow Knight). Running and jumping feels so satisfying in this game and even dying feels satisfying somehow.
It's clear to me why this game was such a milestone in indie gaming because this game is truly amazing.

This game is a perfect blend between speed and precision, something which most platformers struggle to achieve. It's like you mix the momentum from Sonic, with the level design of Kaizo Mario, and then throw in the classic Newgrounds humor. I have known Super Meat Boy for a really long time and now that I am finally playing this game, it is way better than I expected. I highly suggest playing this with an Xbox Controller (just not the same with a keyboard, but still fun), crank up the volume and lock in for at least an hour at a time. The game has good replayability in the form of a second "dark" world and collectables which unlock new characters. Winning each stage rewards you with a fun cutscene, and I like that a lot. :]

really nice soundtrack. art is not too bad. controls are a bit hard to grasp i feel. but i like how fast meat boy is compared to other platformer characters from other games. satisfies my urge to rush through things and finish levels quickly. overall would recommend yeah.

Feels dated for a platformer. Movement mechanics were more frustrating than interesting. There are better options.

very fun, i like how they basically just have a setting that changes the music and adds glitches
sad that the game is old though, would've loved to see what the super meat world community was like before it was shut down
