Twin-stick rogue-like with non-stop explosive action, retro cyberpunk aesthetic, a kickass synthwave soundtrack and one of best EULAs I've ever come across... What's not to love?

This is a git gud game, simple and very rewarding. ENHANCED MINI NUKE OF BORKED RAMPAGE goes boom. Big boom.

Tickles the brain in the exact right ways Only comment I have is that it sucks that you can only play (online) multiplayer through remote play. It's probably a monetary issue for the devs, so I get it, but remote play is sadly still pretty finnicky and doesn't always work (well) One of the best 1,39 euros you'll ever spend though (on 90% sale), beats any supermarket-croissant for sure

This game is mediocre, flawed and all things considered, boring. Wich is a big problem for a game, since games should be fun or at least engaging. Regular levels consist of running around maps with zero graphical variation apart from layout and theme, shooting at braindead AI that stays still until you get near them, where they start to move and shoot in your direction, 99% of the time posing no direct threat to you, the rest of the 1% consists of elites that spawn with nukes. Movement feels floaty, unnatural or jank, both your sprites and enemies look like animated pngs sliding across the map instead of looking like well animated sprites. You also get stuck on corners all the time (halting your movement), even if graphically it seems like there sould not be any collision between your model and the background the hitbox is always getting stuck on some invisible boundary. Boss levels are a different story: They are small, cramped and with no room for maneuver, wich is a problem because bosses are the only time in this game you are in danger of dying, since they saturate these small arenas with projectiles (sometimes nukes) while endlessly spawning enemies while you try to hit the boss at its weak point. When you start the run you can choose a skill to aid you, but I fail to see how you are not pretty much forced to choose the self-heal one to offset the boss battles and the RNG involved in the boss and arena you'll end up against. No other skill will have a higher probability of saving your run when going against a boss with nukes, or one that quickly saturates the area with flames or acid. There is a skill that makes the health kit drops heal more, but health kits only have a small chance of dropping and only when you are below a health treshold, the aforementioned skill can both increase the spawn chance and the percent healed, but even with 30% more spawn chance enemies still don't drop health kits regularly enough for it to be a consistent way of healing. All the other skills are either situational or pretty much useless. What I'm trying to say is I really should have taken heed of the other negative reviews (and my own eyes, since I watched some gameplay on yt) instead of hoping the game wouldn't be as bad as it seemed to be. While the procedural generation and my own boredom are giving this game more mileage than it deserves, I can't lie to myself and say it is really enjoyable or worth the money. The more I play, the more frustrating the experience becomes, because this could be a good game but just isn't, all the parts that make this game, the movement, the combat, the enemies, the loot, the skills and abilities just don't seem to form a coherent and well made package. No matter if you get a good or bad run, this game feels both boring and inconsequential to play. It's neither fun nor engaging, and ultimately feels like a waste of time. It looks like a functional game, but feels like nothing. Save your money.
