I loved The Black Watchmen - Mother Russia DLC. It's challenging without being impossible. Really the only thing I could possibly nitpick would be that I wish there were more than 5 missions!

Usually TBW missions feel rather stand-alone, or they feel like they'll only constitute a 4 mission arc and dissappear once the next thing shows up. And while this is only a 5 mission arc here, WOW does it feel important. You dig through Agent Msikas old reports, track down an enemeny that ties both into SILVERSPEAR and S3, and get access to an interesting new time mechanic- 10/10 now release Ahnayro plz

The entire DLC revolves around notes of an old agent. Files are prepared with great detail and researching process and subjects were really interesting. If you enjoyed TBW experience, this DLC is right up your alley. I can say the quality is much much higher than season 1 of main series.

It's more TBW for 5 dollars... where could there be a negative?
The DLC features five intense missions, as you study virus testing in Russia as the follow-up to Operation SILVERSPEAR (Live mission leading up to the release of MR). You read the field reports of an agent who did recon a few years ago on the subject you are currently gathering intel on. The story, while more like a side mission, is a great lead-up to Season 3.
And again... it's only 5 dollars for an exciting and challenging Special Ops.

The Good
Mother Russia is a short DLC addon to the main TBW game, set after the end of season two but unrelated to any of the main game content, other than a few characters who are mentioned by name. Following on from the OP Silverspear live mission, Mother Russia allows the agent to explore the truth behind AMWOG, and unlock some of the secrets of what happened to Msika. And it's really fun!!! The puzzles are interesting without being horrifically challenging (I'm currently working through the S2 Wheeler Missions for context!), the backstory is super interesting, and I love the characterisation we get for Msika!
The Bad
While it's a good amount of content for £4, it was very short and took three of us working together in the same room just under two hours to finish. I also wish there had been a bit more variety, as the missions were almost all research based, and while for me that's fine, as someone who's only good at research missions, for other people who are better at tech or minigame missions, it might not be much fun.
Overall
9/10 - a really interesting and fun, if short, DLC for the main game that makes me super super excited for season three! Bring it on, AMWOG!

How did we fall short here? Season 1 of Black Watchmen is outstanding -- a brain-bending conspiracy romp that doesn't pull punches on difficulty. Mother Russia feels like the developers were "rushin'" a little too much. Reference documents are mostly bound into single gigantic files that you use across multiple missions. It makes you feel overwhelmed when you start a mission and unimpressed when you learn how little of the document you'll need for a particular task.
The story concept is great but feels like it didn't get adequate time to really develop. The result is not only does the story feel rushed, but the big twists and turns are mostly taken care of by the NPC field agents who provide you with intelligence. You can hammer through the first 80% or so of the DLC in maybe an hour if you're computer savvy because your tasks come down to simple reference and grinding out some ciphers.
After season 1 took no prisoners with its breadth and depth, it feels awfully weird to take such big steps back for an easy DLC like this.
