The story is very predictable and contrived, with the romantic development happening unnaturally quickly.
The characters can't imagine a future without each other after having known each other for 12 days???
The "twist" is also predictable immediately from the start, to the point where I expected it to be revealed much earlier.
Try Aloners if you want an indie VN about a post-apocalyptic romance that's much better written.

Supporting steam releases for otome games! Only read one bad ending but I expect around 5 hours of content.
good: art, voice
not so good: choice variety (either play into guy's interests or you get a bad end where he says you're too much :D), a guy being a pathetic hikkineet (can be a good thing for some people) but too polite and conforming, like the writer didn't even try to actually explore the setting they wrote. also I think I recognized the plot twist from the first minute or so, but we shall see when I actually get to this part.
still rating this positive because I need Primula to thrive and eventually release "Qualia Delta" by Fujifumi. I need it!!

I think Navigatore of the Ruined World / Hounavi was a decently written title despite its short length. The vn explored both characters well enough for me to be able to understand them and sympathize with their plight, however, I do have a few minor gripes...
When this game was first announced and marketing for it began, I was on the fence on the idea of having a single love interest game where the protagonist is left unvoiced. While I know this is not the first game to introduce such a format, I think leaving Hikari (MC) unvoiced did not do this game any favors in terms of immersion. Especially with the setting of hounavi where they are the only two characters present in the game and no one else, the atmosphere of the VN itself felt....incredibly empty to me, because Mika is the only one who has a voice. The idea and main theme of hounavi (or at least what I think is the theme) is a story of two people offering each other companionship and support in a perilious world where everything is in ruins, I think it would have been better for the narrative for Hikari to have a voice, to deepen that sense of companionship and the idea that 'it's two people working together and trying to find their way to survive even if there is nothing left'. While playing, it just felt incredibly jarring for Mika to be the only one to have a voice,
especially there is no other character in the cast besides Hikari for him to bounce off from in terms of interactions, as they are the only people left in the world
. I think having an unvoiced protagonist is fine
if there were other people in the cast to fill the void of them being silent
but I just found myself scratching my head. Although, even with my problems from the production side of things, I think the game is written well enough for me to be convinced of their bond and Hikari as a character, it was just a shame that I couldn't hear her speak when she had a very lively personality that I enjoyed following as a reader.
This game had a whopping 17 endings, I think to fully experience the game and to get to know its world and characters, the endings with CGs are at least required reading. Although personally, I think this game would have benefitted to be longer, I think there were a lot of things that could have been expanded on and explored, but this is just me not being used to short VNs haha so don't mind this section too much. I sometimes felt that this game played things too safe for my liking even with its bleak setting, although I'm no expert on post apocalyptic settings so maybe this is just how it is?
Anyhow, I don't really have any major complaints about the characters themselves, I think both Mika and Hikari were well written characters with a very enjoyable dynamic. I was quite impressed that the devs chose to make Mika
a pathetic, loser bum (I mean this all affectionately)
despite being our only love interest, it felt refreshing to witness how human his character was. I think he's this game's best asset (as he should be...lol). I liked him even if he isn't necessarily my type, while he doesn't necessarily have the ability to make one swoon, he at least is a very earnest character that you'd root for.
This game took me around 9 hours to complete, so I think with this length it's best to grab this on a sale if full price is not worth it. All in all, around a 7.5/10 from me.

I liked this game and it has fantastic art and VA's in it, but I would probably recommend purchasing it when it's on sale because the story is pretty short. (It took me around 5- 6ish hours to reach my first ending.)
The games story is a bit predictable at times, but it was still able to have some pretty good emotional scenes. I found the interactions between the Hikari and Mika surviving this post-apocalyptic world together to be quite charming and think that their personalities work together nicely.

Should you buy it? Yes, if you like exploring romance that blossoms in a post-apocalyptic setting with a fast paced story. In about 7 hours, I managed to unlock all CGS and achievements, but I am also a quick reader so keep that in mind. Ito Kent did an amazing job voicing Mika (the male lead) and it definitely elevated the experience, which helps especially he is the only love interest in the game.
There might be mixed opinions on the personality of the male lead of being a hikikomori, but personally I enjoyed his character. I often found him to be really cute. As for the MC, I really liked her alot and could relate to her in most of the situations, and especially in her interactions with the ML. She's a very kind and friendly girl, and I like how her bubbly personality interacts with the ML's more socially awkward one.
The game had its intense moments where it made me kind of scared to keep going because of the suspense I was feeling for what could possibly happen next. The OST changes had me on my toes I swear. Some of the revelations were kind of mid for me, but I liked the implications they had on the two characters after. I will say, if you like a slow burn, this game might move a bit too fast for you. However, since MC and ML are the main focus of the tale, their relationship development is pretty straightforward, which is probably why.
The scenario writer is Nakayama Satomi, who was also a scenario writer for both Virche Evermore games. I found it kind of funny how I always caught myself saying, "Yep, this is definitely the writer of Virche" throughout my playthrough. So if you like stories of similar vibe, you might enjoy this game!
Anyways, despite it being quite short, I still liked this game. I think that it's worth trying out if you like the general premise of it, especially when it goes on sale.

Generally speaking, I would recommend this visual novel to people who are interested in the setting, but don't expect anything groundbreaking. The VN is in the shorter side as well (taking me around 5-6h to get every ending with a guide).
Pro:
- Story idea/concept was good (although predictable but fine for a shorter title)
- CG's are great and vary
- Great choice for the VA of the LI
- Endings felt distinct. They weren't the typical "three sentences game over endings" and depending on which ending you got, they gave you different Information
Neutral:
- Music was decent
- Some parts were more on the darker side than others, but that should be expected with the setting
- With only 2 main characters, it was kind of sad that MC isnt voiced.
- Around 5-8 h of content depending on reading speed
Contra:
- LI felt a bit inconsistent. He was likeable, but some of his character traits didn't quite mesh with how he was introduced in the story
- MC’s priorities felt a bit strange at the start, though I suppose that can be excused by the VR theme
- The UI for the backlog and options is a bit difficult to read
Generally speaking I did enjoy the VN and was kind of sad once I finished it. The price was okay for this length.

SO SO SO SO GOOD :') I've been waiting ever since this game was announced, and im happy with the overall experience of playing the game. I absolutely adore the relationship between Mika + Hikari and how it progressed through the story. My heart felt so full and destroyed at the same time while playing the game. It may be hopeful thinking on my end, but I'd love to maybe see a sequel?

A good visual novel game, although I'm biased as one of my favorite combination of genres is post-apocalyptic and romance, and this nails it in many ways.
Honestly, my only complaint is that the game wasn't longer, that there aren't even more endings or more CGs of our main characters, but that might just be me.
To be clear, the game is good- It's well made and carries some dark and emotional moments with good writing and art, BUT, the regular price isn't worth it, in my opinion at least.
You're paying 20€ for a game that you'll most likely 100% within 6-8 hours, that's almost 3€ per hour. If that's an amount you're comfortable spending, go for it, otherwise, hold off until a sale.

Although the game turned out to be on the shorter side, I feel like the writer did a great job fleshing out the setting and the characters. While the plot twist is pretty predictable, the story delved more into its implications for the main characters, and I really loved it. It's nothing mind-blowing, yet there is something so satisfying about reading this story. There are some semi-frequent typos, but they don't take away from the experience.
If you temper your expectations for this title, you'll genuinely have a lot of fun reading it. I certainly did!
