Started as decent 4X game, but devs changed the game into something else piled stupid shit option after stupid shit option into expansions, to the point I turned off 90% of what I paid for. Fuck the Umbral choir, fuck the giant kaiju ships, fuck the abusive academy, and fuck all the shit that no longer makes this a fun game to play.

Endless Space 2 segue o que o Endless Space ja entregou, um jogo viciante, que revolucionou o genero 4x!

This game was awesome. Have not played for many years, but it's a solid buy regardless.

I loved Endless Legend and thought I would love this, and I did enjoy many aspects, but combat was less intuitive and frankly made less sense as time went on, for all that there's a variety of technology it's not clear what impact choices have unlike in Legend where you can clearly follow combat. My last straw was not having an enemy nation always summoning more ships than I could see, and while our numbers were comparable clearly there were other advantages, but it was that it was going to eat my civilization and no amount of units I could create could stop it. The influence and governing systems, as well as resource management, also felt oddly marginal compared to Legend.

Bought it after the Seth video way back when, clocked nearly 200hrs in and still find myself coming back to it over and over again. Great game, most of the DLC bangs, and it's a ton of fun both vanilla and modded. Strong recommend from me.

It's not bad per se, but I personally wouldn't recommend it to my friends. I got the definitive edition and only played one map. All along I just wished the game would let me do what I want to do, instead of constantly throwing random quests with laughable rewards at me. It also felt much shallower than Stellaris, and the UI strives to be accessible, but instead those huge icons and graphs make some information hard to find. You can't even easily see all the resources you have available. Many systems feel pretty unpolished. I was neighbors with a pacifist faction, mine being scientific and non-agressive as well, but they refused all my attempts at making peace, sharing the map etc. In the end I was practically forced to go to war with them, because they kept expanding into my territory. Later, when I was in an alliance with other factions, they just kept waging wars and being "wounded" if you don't attack or defend points they tell you to attack or defend. And you have no say if they decide to attack something or to make peace. It was pretty silly when I was attacking a faction's capital, and one turn before taking it my allies just make peace. And then I have to declare war again (taking the rest of the alliance to war as well) to finish the siege. And that's the story with everything in this game: there are politics, but they are meaningless; there are quests, but the rewards are laughable (except for a couple "main" quests); there are system destroyers, but they take 35 turns to charge (for comparison endgame wonders took me 10-12 turns to construct). Technoligies are scattered all over: for example there's a building that converts food into construction when food is no longer needed. This building is in the "Empire development" tree, while all the other construction related buildings are in the economy tree. And almost no technologies have any pre-requisits, you only need to unlock the corresponding tier. You have to know pretty well where to find the things you need, and go for them. Oh, and there's also hacking, I'll just say it's bad, because if I go into details it would be another essay in here. The game also nags you to start hacking if you're ignoring the mechanic. Overall I would recommend Endless Space 2 if you want some narrative and directions to follow. Playing once for every faction and exploring their story (it's presented as a quest line) might be enjoyable. If you want to make your own narrative and create your own story, then I'd recommend getting Stellaris with expansion pass instead.

Colonize planets, oppress lesser civilizations and delete foreign empires with enhanced diplomatic techniques. Truly a game for the European man.

an actual complete game that isn't constantly re-balanced or reworked entirely to its core, while also adding another paid dlc... unlike another certain game
