Smoke has been our reliable getaway driver for years, but now he has finally stepped out from behind the wheel to join the team in boots on the ground action. Equipped with his drum fed Crossbow, silent and lethal on all ranges, loaded either fully automatic with deadly piercing bolts, or semi auto electrified stun bolts, capable of shocking a close group of enemies with chained lightning. And his signature Ninjato sword can quickly and efficiently slice through several enemies at once, and still cut a tomato. His smoke bomb allows you to quickly cloak you in the shadows and let you move past guards and cameras undetected, beware, the pop makes some noise for those guards to come looking. His two new perks allow him to run into enemy fire but deflect almost all bullets shot at him with his sword and slay down those opponents, slide faster, further and survive falls from nearly any height, with superior health regeneration upon leaving combat. But beware of his lighter build means he won't be able to tank as much enemy fire all at once. Unique new items and perks, and Smoke is finally a playable character, worth for the variety to spice up your gameplay.
More microtransactions for a game designed to waste your time.
Microtransactions like this are actually the reason the main game sucks. Very cynical people in the game industry have calculated that the more time you spend in a game, the more likely you are to buy microtransactions for said game. This Time-in-game ^ = MTX sales ^ equation is the reason that Ubisoft games are boring open-world grindfests and it is the reason that this game uses literally every trick in the book to waste your time including daily bonuses, "surprise mechanics" when you level up to unlock new guns, skins, etc., overpriced guns which you still have to buy with in-game currency even after unlocking them, guns which you can't customize so that you have to buy multiple versions of the same gun, skins which have to be purchased separately for every single gun even after you unlock them... and worst of all a single-player campaign which is designed to be impossible to complete unless you try it dozens of times.
Worst single-player in any game ever
I actually really tried to go through the single-player, which is roguelite-only simply to waste your time, but I found that it is actually DESIGNED to be impossible to complete in a single run... or even several runs. Not only is it incredibly difficult to survive in this mode unless you have already have lots of bonuses from previous runs but even if you do that, the "investigation" meter will fill up and you will automatically fail the game anyway. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3435763887 Unlike roguelikes with some level of integrity going all the way back to Donkey Kong, this one is designed to force you to do it dozens of times to build up boosts to make it easier and makes you autofail via what is essentially a time-limit if you play carefully rather than relying on amassed boosts. And to add insult to injury, the game suffered a save file corruption issue after that which is yet ANOTHER way this game is designed to make you waste your time.
Deliberately bad save system which deletes your progress
If you play this game, you need to manually find and copy your save file outside the game (it will like be in C:\Users\username\Saved Games ) because this game has only one save file, it won't let you save manually, and the save file system is prone to corruption which I learned the hard way when I went from lv 97 to Lv 1 and lost ALL of the boosts I had built up in multiple runs. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3436288904 This is NOT a bug; it's by design. This problem could be completely avoided simply by allowing gamers to save manually in-game like almost every other game that isn't an MMO. However, these devs DECIDED not to do that because they want to ensure that gamers waste as much time as possible replaying stale content they have ALREADY finished before. Simply put, if they let you make manual saves, you would reload your old saves rather than repeating the whole game if you failed a mission (possibly as a result of a game-breaking bug or bad AI, both of which this game has in abundance.) Rather than ensure that players won't lose everything to save file corruption, they CHOSE to go the extra mile to waste players' time and prevent them from skipping anything they already did before by loading a save... and then added the "investigation" meter to make you autofail if you somehow played so well or got lucky enough to have a shot at winning before grinding the campaign dozens of times.
MIcrotransactions like this are the root cause of all the problems
And why won't they fix any of this? Why won't they give us the OPTION of playing a conventional campaign or at least a roguelike that doesn't cheat? Whay won't they give us a save system that doesn't delete what we already earned? It's because the longer you are in the game, the more microtransactions you will buy... like this one. They aren't even trying to give you a good experience; they just want to take as much of your time and money as they can get.

Another good character pack. The perks are really cool in this one, I like anything that makes melee more viable if only for the sake of variety and one of the perks does just that with the katanas. The other perk is just a good one thats nice when it pops up in the roguelite mode, The cross bow is the star of the weapons, its got an AoE shock that comes off of it that does a fair amount of damage and stuns. The cross bow bolt itself does a ton of damage, one shotting most enemies. You can even shoot a shield and the shock aoe will still hit the shield guy holding the shield. All these come with the trade off of probably the strictest ammo economy in the game out of any weapon. Its by no means opressive or ruins the weapon, i think its a good trade off and just makes it so you have to be a little more active with picking up ammo drops. The Glizzy is just a really good stealth glizzy thats strong enough to stand its own in a loud mission. Its right up there with the silenced sidearm that came in the cracker pack. The sword is as good as you'd want from a pack like this and its better with the perks that come with the pack. The smoke bomb is really good if you run alot of stealth, its a stealth only grenade option but its not the only one in the game. Everything else in this pack has value in both stealth and combat except this. I don't think this is a problem at all because you should be able to not get caught while using the smoke bomb lol (and that slot isn't as important since you can use your bots grenades and stuff if you get caught in the roguelite). The only problem I've had with this pack is that the character model throws me off sometimes, I see a masked man in this game and think its a cop and take the shot lol. But i'll get used to it. The crossbow and the perks are what make this pack good for me but the rest is still good.

Another great character pack and its built around stealth which is nice cause that's my go to for robbing unless its forced. Awesome to have smoke as a playable character rebound completes my stealth build. While razor focus is hella fun when you pair it with close combat, melee and run the ninjato just shred threw the hordes. Skin is dope tho I wish you can equip dlc skins on other guns tho crossbows is neat nice alternative silenced weapon.

Nah, not worth it. They must of stopped trying to make the character pack items useful because this guy's items are actually trash. Tried to understand a useful thing for the grenades it comes with but they are actually not usable at all, they explode causing enemies to look at you, their effect doesn't truly stop enemy agro or spotting and then it takes like 4 minutes for it to recharge but only 5 seconds of grenade effect. Avoid the pack and buy silenced stun grenades in game, this pack is useless unless you do melee builds in the horde mode. Edit- I decided to try the perks in a mission and I got stuck spamming the bullet block animations and could barely attack due to it. Kinda sad because they will probably end up nerfing the only useful thing in the dlc. Edit 2- The crossbow is very non-noteworthy, the suppressed M4 still reigns supreme for me.

The crossbow's very cool, it borrows the chain lightning mechanic from the Wiz pack's bat. It still appears to be a hitscan projectile despite launching bolts. The pistol sure is a slightly stat boosted version of an existing Glizzy variant, it didn't even keep the unique name the marketing screenshot has. The Ninjato is certainly a smaller katana. The Mirage Burst renders you invisible to enemy sight for a brief period of time, a cool alternative to throwables like concussion grenades. Rebound and Razor Focus are definitely designed for a close quarters combat style, though I've found Razor Focus' deflection mechanic to be quite unreliable. It's probably my least favourite character pack so far, but it still adds interesting new variety and opens the doors to ranged weapons being more than just simple ballistic arms.
