While I was super excited to play this game before its release, there are a few things that held it back when it finally did. The physics were completely changed from when it was Formula Fusion, and it's debatable which was better. One of the main things preventing me from playing is the menu music and UI are irritating. I get in there and just don't want to stick around. But the soundtrack overall is nice, the game is pretty, and it will entertain you for a while. Get it on sale and you won't be disappointed.

Dystopian Wipeout - A bunch of ex-Wipeout people sought to modernize the series and they succeeded, though it sounds like things soured between the devs and Designers Republic; they ended up going back on a bunch of lore + branding envisioned by the firm which helped create Wipeout.
I don't say dystopian as a synonym for bad; it's got all kinds of dope modernized touches and it has a grittier aesthetic, but it's like modern real world racing: rampant corporatism smoothed over the rough edges, streamlined things, but at the expense of character and imperfections we all grow attached to.
Still, it's a better Wipeout experience than Redout.
