I can't believe this is real. I first played this game at the age of 12 or 13 on my iPod Touch! Ever since then it has been a nostalgic memory that I barely could tell was real. Over the last 13 years I have desperately tried to find a way to play this game again as it was one of my fondest memories from early mobile gaming (even tho I definitely didn't fully understand the story back then). I even emailed the devs two seperate times in the last 13 years asking for the game to be re-released on modern hardware since you can no longer play it. I had all but given up. Then today I randomly asked ChatGPT about the games story as I wanted to remember what it was about and I couldn't believe it - it told me it had been remastered! I ran straight to the steam store and bought it without hesitation. I was beyond excited. I have only played about 2 hours so far but this is more than a remaster, its an entirely new experience. Maybe my memory is just bad but there is so much new content and the map is way larger with more to do and see. To get it out of the way, yes the game is quite buggy and even on my $3000 PC it averages 20 or so FPS on high, but honestly I don't care. I get to experience a key memory from my childhood again and I couldn't be happier. The story to this game is so touching for some reason it always resonated with me and I am so happy to experience it again. The remaster is beautiful too. There is so much detail to the world that definitely was not here before. Again its full of quirks and bugs but it's playable and you can tell they really made an effort to improve upon the original. To the devs; thank you so much for bringing this game back to life and making it even more of an experience than ever. I can't describe how much it means to me that I can experience this game again. I truly hope more people find out this exists as I only stumbled upon it by luck. The original had such a reputation I truly hope more of the original playerbase finds this game so they too can experience it again. I cannot wait to finish the story again and find all the new secrets hidden throughout. And even better, they are remaking the sequel too! I never got to finish the original sequel so I am beyond excited. Heck I don't even know if i ever truly finished the original game so maybe there are even more surprises in store for me than I think. Can't recommend this game enough, if you see this review please support these devs and buy this game. It may not be the most polished or optimized game out there but it has as beautiful story and incredible map to explore. Long live Dream:Scape!!!
