Nice litte fair priced casual game with good support.
I first gave a negative review because of a "feature" that turned out to be an assumed bug.
(see below)
--------
This game could be funny if bagging wasn't so stupid. Heavy products have to be packed under lighter products, but as soon as an item is dragged to one of the 5 possible places inside the bag it's stucked there and cannot be moved.
You put two medium weights in the middle of the bag (to leave place for lighter ones) and then you get three heavy products. Well, too bad! Your products will be crushed.
It doesn't help that I can switch products AFTER they've been crushed. The customer is complaining anyway.
It could have been coded better very easily:
- stick products to their place not before releasing the mouse button
- let me switch them inside the bag BEFORE I have to put in a heavy one
- show the cart with all products, so bagging can be planned
- let me leave products on the desk so I can pack them at the end

*edit
Thank you for answering my review.
I think it is a bug that happens only with seasonal products. In addition to that the customer says: "It's ok. I'm not in a rush.", but I'm playing on easy so time should not be a reason.
I'm hoping that this will be fixed soon. Or maybe disappears after christmas season?
Anyway... alone for the quick and pleasant reply I changed my review to positiv.

I haven't touched this game for 5 years lmao. When I first played it, I got frustrated with the controls and ragequit.
This time I attacked it with more patience. I took the time to read my employee handbook and understand what the game wanted from me and I royally screwed up on the first level trying to figure out how to drag things around. Once I got used to the janky click and drag controls, the game really opened up and I was able to enjoy myself.
Solid game for killing some time if you enjoy casual simulation games. Just be patient with it. :)

played this game for a good hour and i still don't know why. buy this when it's on sale (like i did for 49 cents). tbh not worth 5 ya get me. had troubles getting it started and that was frustrating but i figured out how to fix it by going to the discussion boards

This is my first review of a game. It's pretty simple once you get the hang of it. this game will make you talk to yourself a lot. Its more fun that way i think, All in all a good game. Not too much mind work involded. Tip: after the customer pays, you can cut 2 steps out by taking the bag and hovering over the change and reciept.

I waited a long time before finally deciding to buy this..here is my review:
PRO's:
*Unique and there is not another like it that I have seen. Graphics are old school BUT that is made up in many ways.
*Customers are unique and each have their own personality, and it's just awesome when some come in the store saying "grumple grumple" and are in a bad mood..this makes it fun and adds it's own personal touch.
*Easy mode for those who do not like to be pressured with a time limit
*New items unlock as you play..as well as your choice of a new customer.
*Christmas theme update from the dev is nice, but I hope it gets replaces soon as it's getting old fast. But it's nice to see the game still being updated
CON'S:
There aren't really too many..but there are some.
*No save function..there is a save/load button but it only loads the last day you were playing, it will not save. And a few times it has actually started my game over.
*Controls are not smooth. For a game that is in it's final phase I would think most bugs would be gone..however browsing the forum to post about MY issue, I see nothing but error posts from other people. For example, picking up items sometimes takes a few times before it actually works, same for dropping in the bag, sometimes it's annoying that it just falls on the counter when you clearly had the bag open when you dropped it. Trying to put money into the register or handing the receipt to customers most times takes a few tries..and it isn't that I am doing it wrong, because sometimes when handing the bag of groceries to customer it completely gets stuck in mid air. This can be a huge issue when playing in normal mode and you're down to the last 5 seconds before the customer gets mad and you get a strike..after I think 5 strikes it's game over, period.
Overall the game is a nice one..and the dev is still updating it. I def reccomend this game 9/10

Edit- The game works fine now and it is much better than the free version on the internet, its weirdly addicting..unless you used to work retail then it will probably bring back bad memories of being on the tills, I have left my old review just in case people want to see what was fixed.
OLD REVIEW-
--I want to recommend this game but in its current state the bugs are too game breaking, on day 3 iv had items just refusing to go in the bag and forcing me to restart, this happened to me twice, and then the coupon refusing to go into the register after I scanned it, If and when these get fixed I will update my review.--

Firstly, who the hell needs 700lb of sugar?!
As someone who worked retail for 11 years, I have to appreciate the relaxing moment when you open this game and realise there is assholes in games too. Most of the game itself can get quite tedious, and the 10 minute work day feels like hours - but somehow I keep going back and somehow enjoying myself.
There needs to be significant changes for this to be an amazing game - the glitches are a bit of a bitch at times - especially when you're almost through your shift and suddenly something won't pack or a light item automatically attaches to the bottom of the bag and you're basically screwed.
If those sort of issues were resolved, this game would be substantially more enjoyable and cause a lot less rage quitting.
However, I still recommend this to anyone that has ever worked in retail for some mindless enjoyment.

A fun little game. Sadly, it gets boring really quickly. Whenever I play, I sit for about ten minutes before getting tired of it. Maybe it is just me, but the mouse pointer seems to be a bit laggy, and I serious can`t stand writing in the product codes. I can not recommend spending money on this. Maybe if it gets on sale.

This game does not work. It is bascially unplayable.
Here is a list of a few things that do not work:
The bagging is really awkward. Sometimes an item gets stuck in a place and you can't put anywhere else. Sometimes it is impossible to put something inside the bag.
There is no way to scan the club card. Absolutely nothings happens when you drop it on the reader.
It is impossible to enter coupons. You can drag it all you want to the place where the manual says should drag it, it won't work. Then you will be stuck with the customer and have to start over.

After working as a cashier for a couple of years, I quit and promised myself to never, EVER, go through the horror of dealing with annoying customers again. I did miss the satisfying beeps products being scanned... so I paid money to do my old job without actually getting paid for it. At least now I can swear at those moody turds without the fear of getting fired.
