I love the 3D mapmaking. But, you can't adjust the camera, which limits your building options. And the list of available minis is sparse and if you play DnD, you'll notice some key things missing. Wouldn't recommend this in 2024. Not really sure why this is still available, other than to fleece people out of $20.

It has a lot of potential, but I can't reccomend this at its current state. The optimization is terrible, having to be online in order to play isn't super cool, the map editor could do with improvements, and it could do with more key bindings. (For example: Pressing escape to either bring up options or to exit.) Regardless of its flaws, it does have a lot of assets it seems. Although the 2D models don't look too great in my opinion, the 3D ones don't look bad, even on the lowest graphical setting. I'm no game designer, so what I'm going to say next is purly from my little knowledge of how games work. I think one way it could improve preformance in the map editor is to, perhaps, ditch the mountains and water and give the player an empty space to just mess around in. I say this because frame rate skyrocketed for me once I turned off the lights, presumably because the mountains and water weren't being rendered as much at that point, but you kind of need to see in order to build stuff, and having to place lights isn't the most conventional way of doing so. And a big pluss would be not having to log in in order to play. If there is a way to do so, then awesome! I also think it could do with a way to edit and play at the same time, however that could be complicated to add. I got this game hoping to replace Tabletop Simulator so I can play D&D and not worry about smacking my dice into the characters and everything exploding, however I think I'll stick with that until this game improves a bit. I barely scraped the surface of the game, however my first impression wasn't the best. If you can put up with the flaws, then by all means get this game. It has potential to be something great.

I tried this twice. I tried it once while it was in Early Access and refunded it in about 90 minutes because of how bad it is. The camera is very hard to control and is very annoying. There are no hotkeys for deleting things so making a mistake requires you to click everything and click delete each time OR clear the whole map from scratch. I purchased it a second time today because it might help me make better games out of my series of mods on Tabletop Simulator and I was hugely disappointed STILL. It's out of EA and it has the SAME problems. The biggest two problems. Horrible camera controls and no hotkey to delete placed items. HELL, you can't even EDIT a placed item! You have to delete it and re-place it to edit it. Can't rotate, resize, or move when it has been placed. Maybe it's just me not knowing how to use this, but there shouldn't be any secrets on how to effectively use this software. It's supposed to be ease of access, not frustrating and time consuming. I don't even get enough time to learn it because Steam's 2 hour playtime refund policy. I would require SEVERAL hours to get over these stupid controls and mechanics. There's so much more about this I hate but I can look passed those. I just HATE the two things listed above. I absolutely advise against purchasing this unless there's a sale. It's a good tool to have but the controls make it very frustrating. Save your $20USD and get something better than this. UNLESS you can look passed the horrible controls. It's just frustrating.

This would be better if you didn't have to play online there should be an offline mode so i would just wait for that other then that it is very good. (Update) there is an offline mode so i use it alot for D&D and Hero scape and custom games, you don't even have to realy play on it either if you build snap a photo and print for great represntation

A game with huge potential, a great core idea and a wealth of content sadly marred to unplayable levels by the sheer unusability of the interface. I would adore to see this tabletop become something playable, as with some better UI design and quality of life improvements it could become the best tabletop environment available, with a terrain creation system and features such as particle effects and populated loot boxes. Sadly at this stage due to the lack of uability, quality of life options and poor UI it is actually quicker and easier to make a battleground in any other tablwetop software (and some quick & dirty 3d modelling suites) than to build something playable using this tool. I really hope the tool can live up to it's potential but as of the time of writing I cannot recommend it and would advise waiting until it has been updated to become usable. And to the developers, I know UI and QoL devving is the most tedious and boring part of development, but it really does make the difference between a classic and a steaming pile, and that goes double when developing a creation tool.

As it stands this is not playable. The servers appear to be completely shut down. All you can do is make maps and screen cap them. You can use the other editors but they will be of no use. I submitted an e-mail to Dragom regarding this and am hoping to hear back if they would make this playable. Until and unless I can't recommend.

I am absolutely impressed by this program. This is exactly as the title suggests. It is a revolutionary virtual playspace. There is a plethora of assets for full customization, and the map editor is just brilliant. I am shocked that one guy, and his musically talented friend, managed to create this. They succeeded where so many CRPG's missed the mark. This is worth so much more than $20. I'll be tranferring my D&D 5e game from roll20 to this platform, while still using roll20 for skill checks and spells descriptions. Thanks to the user friendly UI, that will be easily done. The few parts that are rough around the edges are clearly marked for later improvement, and the tooltips are precisely helpful. I plan on purchasing copies for all of my players, so that they can join in on this platform. I look forward to sharing modules and playing games with new people through this innovative tabletop RPG toolbox. My desire for a 3D virtual environment to make my fantasy world in is more than satisfied. Mike McDonald and Nathan Thurston are heroes.

When I first bought this product on early access, I thought it had a lot of things going for it. I spoke with the developer and offered my assistance to working on a wiki and helping to update guides. However I started to notice that less and less interaction, interest and response was taking place. Bug reports and suggestions started to build up and responses turned from we are working on it to simply being ignored. Sadly my time spend on the game was helping to report bugs and work on the projects i listed above. Sadly I was to late to realise that this project was a gimmick. The developer started a second project that as it seems to have also became the same thing. A WASTE OF MONEY! I would strongly urge anyone looking at this or the developers other projects to stay away and do not give your money to him. I would hate to see anyone spend the cash and not be eligible for a refund, such as the case with me on this program. I have fought with steam for a refund and sadly they side with the developer and their refund policy.

The creative building process of the game alone is worth the $20.00 I paid for it and more just by itself! Imagine Minecraft but for big people, without all that annoying having to dig for stuff. I akin it to the Forge on Halo Reach, but thousands of times easier to manipulate and control. You also have several themes to work with from fantasy to sci-fi to help keep things fun. The controls themselves look tiny and daunting at first, but it took me less than an hour to figure out everything I needed to do before I started having fun. Things to know about this game: Don't get it if you want to share it with your D&D group over the computer. It's a real pain in the butt to do because they don't allow it to go through any servers. When ti comes to being a host for a virtual campaign, it has a long way to go. Also, the controls aren't really set for a "walk" mode, meaning if you want to walk your halls and see all the awesome that is in them, you need to move slow and watch your direction. Other than that, it's an amazing tool for every DM and player to have. You can keep track of your characters, your quests, your campaigns, your special campaign rules and any other technicals like that you desire. A very handy, all in one place resource for your gaming needs.
