Shelldiver is a very cozy, enjoyable incremental game, not to mention a great way to pass some time. The art style and soundtrack further contribute to the chill vibes it's going for. It’s short but well worth the low price tag it’s going for.
The gameplay is fairly simple but I think that’s what makes it relaxing to play. The progression and upgrades are very rewarding and combined with the gameplay—it makes for a quite addictive loop, then by the end of it all you’ll be feeling like a true Shelldiver god.

"I will just have a quick launch before bed and see what the game is" ..aaaaand 90 minutes gone.
Its a simple, nice, numbers go up loop thats very chill and casual and bears no real threat of setbacks.
I feel it was worth my money. You don't spend much time grinding "in the same spot" (even though you technically always do the same thing) and for that perfect ramp alone these devs should be commended.

100%ing the game is a lot of fun. From the humble beginings of running out of breath quickly to the T2000 terminator tormenting the reef.

This is an extraordinary game. On sale for $3, this was a fantastic 5 hours that I am glad I spent swimming around the ocean as an old turtle. All the achievements were completable in a single playthrough and nothing was too difficult.
The gameplay itself:
Shelldiver is a simple game of harvesting resources and exponentially getting better at collecting and refining your haul. No clunky inventory management. A complex yet straightforward skill system that focuses on 5 main points.
1) Your island, making the shop work faster and refine your materials better.
2) Your bubble gun, that captures jellyfish and earns you shells (money)
3) Your plasma gun, that breaks down resource blocks to unlock skills.
4) Your oxygen, so that you can stay underwater longer.
5) Appearance rate and multipliers of jellyfish and resources.
All in all a simple game that anyone and everyone should pick up and try. I hope the developers add more content or give us a sequel, because they know how to do things right.

**A short, satisfying, easy-to-recommend game.**
Shelldiver was a really enjoyable experience and exactly the kind of game that is easy to pick up and play without needing a huge time commitment. I finished it in a little over 4 hours, which felt like a good length for what it is. It does not overstay its welcome, and the progression feels satisfying from start to finish.
The gameplay loop is simple in a good way. It is casual-friendly, relaxing, and easy to get into, but still gives you enough upgrades and unlocks to keep you engaged. The grind felt just right to me: enough that earning upgrades was satisfying, but not so much that it became tedious.
It reminded me a little of *Dave the Diver* in some surface-level ways, but it is not as mechanically deep and is ultimately a very different game. Shelldiver feels more compact and focused, which worked well for me.
One of my favourite parts was the late-game unlocks. By the end, you can become incredibly overpowered, and that made the final stretch feel really fun and rewarding. It gives the game a great sense of payoff.
Overall, I’d recommend Shelldiver to casual players or anyone looking for a short, satisfying game that is easy to jump into and finish over a few sessions.
