An epic of unmatched scale! In Battle for the Sun you foster an unrequited love affair with your mentor General Briggs, as you fend off the assault from space gremlins and other Unity assets. With a complex skill tree to follow and levels that are 12 Kilometers in scale, there's so much replay potential. Hopefully the developers release the one (1) multiplayer map they promised. They should probably also release a multiplayer client to play that map on as well. I won't ruin the plot, but the credits indicate that five seperate people contributed to its creation. All in all, amazing work of interactive fiction. "Did you hear about South Dury?" Yes, yes I did General Briggs. The Citizen Kane of video games is finally here.

my current speedrun time for this is 43 mins and 17 secs. category: speedrun all glitches and exploits rules: skip intro cutscene. don't skip any other cutscenes or loading screens. assign points however you like. all glitches or exploits you find can and should be used to your advantage. friend request me if interestet. i think i'm the only speedrunner for this game so i claim to have the WR otherwise this is a unpolished game very hard. but it is good. especially with only 3 people making it. i like it.

It has bad animations and just bad everything. It is a nightmare of weird yoda/golom things and guns that sound like people sneezeing when they fire. The game tries to hide how bad every thing looks by making everthing glow with light.

Move over Ocarina of Time, we have a new best game ever! Now I know what you're thinking: "WHAAAAAAT?! But horricule, Ocarina of Time is the best game ever!" Well, I'll admit Ocarina of Time is pretty good. BUT, it's aged poorly in some ways. Like, the dungeons are fun and all, but a third of the game is spent just wandering around open fields with nothing to do, before you get Epona of course. But Battle for the Sun has no wandering around fields. It has no slow moments. It's nothing but pure action from start to finish. But not repetitive, mindless action, oh no, but rather high quality, well designed action with photorealistic graphics, high-octane music, PERFECT controls, and level design so intricate and well realized that it puts DOOM to shame. (And by that I mean both the original DOOM AND the new one.) Now, all of that is good and all, but it's not enough to make it THE best game of all time. Every other one of the best games of all time not only has great game design, but also something special that elevates it from just a really good game to an unforgettable experience in interactive art. Bioshock? Yeah, it's pretty good. But add in its scathing satire of libertarianism, and now it's a masterpiece. Dark Souls? Yeah, it's pretty good. But add in that feeling of disempowerment and the satisfaction of overcoming it, and now it's a masterpiece. Final Fantasy 7? Aerith's death. Fallout? A mixture of player freedom and brilliant commentary. Metal Gear Solid? Whatever the hell Kojima's dreamed up this time. You get the idea. So what does Battle for the Sun have? General Briggs. General Briggs is the best written character I've ever seen in a videogame. He's so three dimensional and well realized that it puts most of Shakespeare's work to shame. Just one look at his handsome, gorgeously rendered face and it's impossible not to be taken in by his honesty, virtue, and charisma. The relationship that he forms with the player character is so genuine that he feels as if he's real. Whenever I'm in the heat of battle, watching my brothers bleed at the hands of the wretched extraterrestrials, I take one look at my husbando and my screeching fears turn to inconsequential whispers. He tells me to fight on. To never give up. To never surrender, and to always fight for what I believe in. And each and every single time he does, I return back to the maelstrom, more confident than I had ever felt before. Yes. I can do this. All that being said, it's no Garfield Kart. 1/10.

I have found redeeming qualities in games like Chernobyl Commando which was panned by critics and gamers alike, so I tought that this game would be good enough if I paid a fair price for it. Guess what happened; Even with its budget price the game is not worth, it's hardly playable, horrible to look at, uninteresting, I asked Steam for refund. When you can't play a game for more than 5 minutes, then something is wrong with it, this is what happened with this game. DON'T PLAY THIS GAME!!!
If Half Life 2 were written by children and released as a straight-to-TV movie with voice acting recorded in someone's echoey ass bathroom and a 17 dollar budget this would be it.
That being said, there's something "B movie" enjoyable about this game. The YELLING voice acting is annoying but the whole game seems very tongue-in-cheek and self-aware that it's not great. They have at the least bothered to craft a story with cutscenes and voice acting, but as far as the shooting mechanics, enemy, level, and weapon designs it's very cookie cutter / generic asset feeling. If you like bad games and want to just laugh at how silly everything is (while being strangely compelled to continue seeing what's around the next bend) then you might enjoy this. Get it on sale. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1553311829 SHOW ME YA MOVES!!!

Alright so this game is another one of those indie games that doesn't have the budget to fulfill what it whats, feels like a high budget sort of shooter without the budget Game starts out with very awful cutscene detailing the lore of the world, aliens attack blah blah, humanity must rise to the occasion to stop the threat. Your character ,"Dylan" I guess is his name, decides to enlist to save his friends and family and humanity from the alien threat They spend about 5 minutes jerking off about how great General Briggs is and you start out in a military base camp, now I heard some people say this game is hard, but I guess they didn't get all the dumb alien orb things because you can max out your armor instantly by getting those and the game is super easy after that. The first mission is a rail gun mission which is a horrible way to start your game out, pretty much impossible to make those segments excited in even great games. While your doing this General Briggs is your hype man is yelling a bunch of things that are bleeped out for some reason, I don't know if this is some artistic directly or something but its pretty unecessary, especially since all the swearing feels out of place anyway. The gunplay isn't the worst I've played I'll say that, but it's pretty bad still, guns don't really feel like anything all the enemies have homing attacks that are pretty hard to dodge. All the enviroments are pretty uninspired and generic. Everything feels "small" I guess like it's a lego toyset instead of a Desert or real urban enviroment That's pretty much it for the first mission, it's bad, there's a tutorial level after it but its also bad There's one mission where this pregnant lady or something asks me to blowup some teleported but it's a bad "stealth" mission Pros I guess are that if you like me love games like this or Manhunter and find them hilarious to play this is a good canidate The last one is probably that General Briggs is awesome and amazing and worthy of being followed, he will save us all

It's atrocious. If it had more Briggs screaming lines like "Unf****** believable!" (it's actually censored like that in game) whenever you killed an enemy, it'd be in so-bad-it's-good territory. Instead, gameplay is both mind numbingly monotonous and difficult, and it's impossible to discern what is what with the terrible blurred lighting. Enemies' projectiles will seek you out and are nearly impossible to dodge without cover. You'll die a lot, but thankfully there is no death penalty. On the bright side - you'll bust a gut at some of the voice acting and facial animations. I'll try to push through to the end, but I doubt I'll make it.
