Execute Steam Charts & Stats

Execute is an active incremental game about killing everyone in the world using a guillotine (and possibly some other things). Made in the style of disturbed early 2000's flash games, this retro gem aims to evoke the violent nostalgia of sites like stickpage and newgrounds.

fun little game. not super in depth but thats fair considering its $6 (less if you already have other games from a bundle with it. in my case mmo98 so i got it for ~$4.78)

Incremental game about killing everyone on earth. How it differs from some incrementals is balancing a bunch of different resources at once. Eventually you can start unlocking insane upgrades and start to nuke the planet. to 100% you have to finish the game within 20 minutes (it took me 4 hours)

engaging brief incremental game, the kind that i usually like best (ie, one that doesn't make you play endlessly to drive up big numbers, & instead allows you to "win" within a day or two, a fun little distraction to zone out to and engage with for a while)

I bought it to support an indie dev and didn't think much of it until I played it. I've never played an 'incremental' game or whatever. But once I started I couldn't stop, and kept going until I made it through a run in 1 sitting. Took me like 6 hours. Absolutely worth the money, very ridiculous game, surprisingly very addicting. I will def be playing again. Highly recommend.

Consider this a narrow thumbs up. Someone with the same feelings who draws the line elsewhere might give it a no. Execute is a short incremental/clicker about killing every person on Earth. It's got a slick enough visual style, hitting 90s UI chic if not elevating it. It has a bit more menuing than I'd like for a game in this genre that demands so much hands on effort until a late stage. My issue with it comes with its theming- it's making the common enough argument that unchecked capitalism is, inherently, a death cult. I do agree with the premise, but find the execution, pun not intended, to be lacking. It is a metaphor of brute force, a punch to the face that is barely shy of a statement. Yet, its tangible details also feel somewhat off- the conceit is that you are working for some company that generates money by killing as many people as possible. That's a metaphor, fine, where it comes into conflict is the scale of its economy. I don't think I ever broke $100 million dollars, and for a game simulating an exact population count and consistent birthrate that is designed to reflect reality, the profits feel as though they should at least reflect reality- apocalyptic profits with numbers that feel authentic and create a more cogent picture. In truth, most of playing this game calls to mind my experience with FACEMINER, a game with a not dissimilar mechanical and aesthetic style, and similar themes. FACEMINER, however, finds success in the specificity of its illustration- processing facial recognition data for clients benign and malicious while chasing a constant upscale that stretches beyond reason and feasibility to the world itself collapses, burning in the heat of a legion of data centers with no purpose other than identifying faces. Execute says capitalism is a death cult. FACEMINER reaches the how and why. All that being said, I didn't take much umbrage with my time with the game- I just found its ideas had been performed with more complexity and mechanical polish elsewhere, before.

Really fun incremental game. Probably not much replay value, but there doesn't have to be. Fair asking price.

I'm only giving this a positive review because I don't think it's a bad game, and I don't want its rating to suffer. But I do feel very uncomfortable about this game. It turns systematic genocide of a Holocaust-like nature into a clicker game, where you just click buttons to make the numbers go up. It's not trying to hide what it's doing behind cute graphics or anything, nor is it reveling in the blood and butchery. It simply is. And it's so easy to just fall into the flow state of "click buttons to make numbers go up", just like with any clicker game. Mini-shots of dopamine. I don't think the developer is a sick guy or anything. Feels like this game exists to make a point. I dunno. I just couldn't help but think several times while playing it, "What would my grandfather, who was a Holocaust survivor, think of this?"

Super fun game and satisfying 3.5 hour playtime without min/maxing too hard or knowing what I was doing at all to start. I've been obsessed with these kinds of games lately and this one really felt like more of a game than a lot of them. Absolutely worth the price!

This is a good game. Hardly an Idler/Incremental. You are heavily incentivized and rewarded for active gameplay.

Game is way too short, beat it in about 4 hours, another 2 if you want to get the final achievement. The art, what's there, is fine. Nothing to write home about, but there is barely anything going on in this game. After 4 loops you have seen all the content the game has. It never dramatically changes, there is no sudden breakthrough or any changes to how to play. Other than unlocking the idle mechanic. I'd say pick it up if its going for a dollar, otherwise its not worth it at all.
