THIS GAME IS EPIC!!! My brother and I used to play it on the apple arcade, but to find out we could play it on PC was awesome!

Hot Lava has really smooth controls and colorful, creative levels that keep the pace exciting. The challenges get tougher as you go, but it never feels frustrating. It’s especially awesome playing with your friends, laughing and trying to out run each other.

Not usually my type of game, but Hot Lava really surprised me.
It’s a fast-paced and competitive platformer with a nostalgic twist that brings back childhood memories of "the floor is lava." The level design is creative, the movement feels smooth, and the challenge ramps up in a satisfying way.
It’s a great game to jump into if you’re looking to unwind or test your reflexes — even if it’s not typically your genre.
7/10 – Fun, challenging, and full of energy, just not quite my usual cup of tea.

I have had a lot of fun with this, Its a cool game, recommend checking it out. very polished and parkour system works well.
Lots and lots of maps challenges, and things to do. its insane I picked this up for $9 AUD, and there is modding support. what more could you ask.
Also seems to be players still playing, every time it goes on sale.
Recommend it.

It's a GREAT game but I think it missed becoming a widely-popular speedrunning game for 2 reasons:
1. The default mode is just very jank. Swerving to pick up (almost uncapped) boost speed is - for most - a very unsatisfying way to cut time. Largely because it ends up invalidating most of the map and routing that makes it fun. Double jump mode should be default... it just plays a lot better overall.
2. Times become invalidated due to patches tweaking the 'balance' and fixing bugs. This isn't uncommon in games but it's usually the case with games that aren't intended for speedrunning. With Hot Lava, they really should have taken a lot of care to preserve the timing between patches.
But it's still a great game with a load of excellent courses. Highly recommended if you have a few friends to compete with.
