janky but worth the 3 dollars

I am not an avid player of point and click adventure games so jumping into Stasis took some effort. I am not ashamed I used a walkthrough for most of the game because my brain has not been trained in the magic of adventure games. The gameplay could be rigid at times but was overall good. The game looks amazing and sounds even better! The best part of the entire experience was the writing. As I walk away from Stasis I can't help but place the story up there with the greats of Sci-Fi horror. I have a connection to the Groomlake like I have one to the Nostromo. The story was a fantastic mix of heartbreaking dark science and creepy well written notes. I recommend you read every PDA you find in order to see what the game really has to offer. If you like science fiction horror, you will love Stasis!

A couple of puzzles had some pretty silly moon logic or just required picking up an item that was almost impossible to see without pixel hunting, but overall it's a solid point and click adventure game with a pretty interesting and engaging story. I actually read every single bit of the emails and other logs without ever losing interest which is not common for me.

Starts slow, but stick with it. Atmospheric, with a fair level of challenge, with no need for a walk though for any puzzle.

Great game. Puzzles are somewhat logical (by point & click standards), great world building, amazing visuals, interesting story. Definitely worth checking out if you're a horror fan

This game grabbed me by the throat and would not let go. By and large I am not a huge fan of Point and Click Adventure games, but the atmosphere, art direction, sound design, and story griped me from basically the first screen. The puzzles were generally intuitive and creative - you "saw" the solutions even if there were a few moments of figuring out how to put all the pieces together. There was only really one puzzle in Hydroponics that I had to really look up a guide for just because the window of interaction is slim and if you miss it you get a pretty heavy discouragement from trying the interaction again. A very, very solid Survival Horror experience in a near-future that seems depressingly possible. Ending falls off a bit from the early engagement and mystery, but honestly that's just the nature of these kinds of stories. When the mysteries are over, it's difficult to really nail a big conclusion and it was incredibly satisfying. My advice to anyone interested - Read. Absorb. Soak in the world of the Groomlake. The writing really is top notch and the stories you'll come across will linger with you after you've left their ghosts behind.

Emotional engagement and strong narratives are becoming rare in modern games. Fortunately, STASIS from The Brotherhood proves that an isometric adventure can be just as haunting and intense as the best sci-fi horror stories. STASIS masterfully builds atmosphere and tension. It demands patience but rewards with an unforgettable experience. It’s a rare example of storytelling done right, making it disappointing that few developers take on such ambitious projects today. STASIS proves that a great game needs only vision and attention to detail. Dark, immersive, and unforgettable.

PDA-reading-poorly-written-story and pixel-hunting simulator. Nice setting and graphics. However, reading endless poor-written PDAs and doing pixel-hunting to solve some obscure puzzels, where even the problem is not clear...so how to work on a solution of a bad communicated unkown problem ? The female voice-acting is very bad and kills the immersion. I didn't finish this game....No worth the hassle imo.

Only if you're masochist who somehow takes pleasure in pixel-hunting and randomly clicking on things after having left common sense at home... It stinks of all the "classic adventure game" anti-patterns. Example from the guide I've been using (would have dropped it early on without a guide as backup): "Use the empty pistol on the body part to get refined organic material" (character proceeds to ground/chop the body part using the pistol as if it were a kitchen cutting tool). I could name many other equally baffling instances. Navigation is often frustrating, sometimes taking minutes to go back and forth from two quasi-adjacent rooms. It's a shame because the sci-fi/horror atmosphere is definitley there. Given the better steam reviews, I still want to give Bone Totem a try, maybe the devs have improved upon their mistakes.
