Great overhaul for FSX flying, especially at low altitudes and VFR. I recommend this with the "HD Airports Graphics" add-on; it's like a whole new sim! Purchased on sale, but I would have paid full price!

As a helicopter student pilot, I'm always flying the helicopters in this simulator, so my flights are all VFR with large canopy views, unlike majority of the planes people fly in FSX. There is a beautiful difference with the landscape trees around the mountains and during airport ground taxiing. The only thing missing are obvious birds in the trees while I hover through them in Nepals, Alaska, or right around home. If you are planning on flying IFR or above 3000 FT AGL, don't bother buying it. Even in real life, trees obviously aren't very clear at higher cruising altitudes.

I know that some people don't notice a difference after installing this. But trust me, there is a difference. To see the trees at their full potential, you should have a 1080p monitor. This is a very good add-on and I would highly recommend it.

purchased but Im not sure if it's installed. I purchased Rex4 also and it shows as Installed but not HD Tree. Anybody got some tips for a rookie?

I like both this add as well as Natural Tree Environment X, they are both good tree enhancements. I switch between them when I want to change the look of the trees. What is great about this texture package, is that it has a nice color that looks realistic.

Worth a buy. Great performance. All over the world better looks. No issues with FSX steam. Whished I had bought it earlier. If you are not shure about if its worth wait for a sale and get it. Bushflying was never so much bush. The screenshots are no fake, it realy looks that awesome if your computer can handle the autogenloade. If your autogenslider is maxedout (or close to) with defaulttrees then go for FTX trees. And for even better performance just set the numbers anywhere between 0-6000 Edit your FSX.cfg! [TERRAIN] TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL=5000 TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_BUILDINGS_PER_CELL=2000

FSX's default trees look terrible, even for 2006. Anything over them is an improvement. I got this add-on when it was on sale and I am satisfied with the results. The trees still don't look perfect but they don't look like they are dying, either. June 2 2016 UPDATE - I'm still giving this add-on a thumb-up, but it is not the BEST tree DLC in Steam. The other one is much better. I no longer use this add-on, but despite the negative reviews, it does work and it does change the default trees for the better.

It is actually a simple add on that does not hit your FPS, but make a difference to the scenery especially when on the ground around the airports.

At the time of review, not really seeing that big of a difference. Worth the 5 bucks on sale? Not so much. Save your money for FSX Accu-Feel Add-on, thats worth every penny New edit after trying it more..... I still stand by my original review. Ive used freeware with about the same results. Now off sale , I say no way, not worth the difference it makes.
