Absolute masterpiece, with lots of characters (which changes gameplay, not just skins), gamemodes, maps, etc. A total must for 3-4 player couch parties (2 is pretty fun too and viable competitively imo, but 3 and 4 is where it truly shines). Just be warned that there never seems to be people playing online so don't expect to play in matchmaking nor anything like that (You can find players to play with in Discord tho)
In answer to https://steamcommunity.com/id/Linkblade/recommended/375750/:
There is respawning in 5 out of 7 gamemodes so "waiting every time you die" is a pretty bad excuse for a negative review

This ranks among my top games of all-time, from concept to execution to enjoyability, and I don't see it falling from that spot anytime soon. Every part of it so clearly demonstrates the sheer passion the developer put into this game, including the incredible pixel art, the well-balanced levels (most of them, at least), the quips characters make after each round, the fact that crossplay between PC, mobile, and Switch is seamless (and that there's crossplay at all!), the emergent complexity for each character's special ability, and how when every match ends you can rewatch the last 10 seconds to see what happened to lead to your glorious victory (or your miserable-and-totally-undeserved defeat) *and* can press a button to save a GIF of those 10 seconds directly to your computer. shadiradio went above and beyond in every aspect even when they absolutely didn't need to, and it shows.
Now, will you be able to buy this game and immediately enjoy it? No, but not just because there's a learning curve to being invisible. That's pretty easily solved by counting your steps and slowly getting an innate feel for where you are. No, the issue is that this game never took off because it's hard to advertise invisible gameplay. How do you show someone the game when the whole point is that you can't see what's happening? For that reason, online multiplayer is a ghost town, which is a shame because Invisigun's entire foundation is the multiplayer experience. So if you want to enjoy this, you're going to need to either have friends you can rope in for couch play or get copies of the game themselves, or join the Invisigun discord and ping to see if other people are available for a few matches. But if you can do that, or if you're content to just play matches against bots (which honestly isn't that bad, the bots are fairly competent at higher difficulties), then I can guarantee you will love Invisigun.
And hey, if you're on the fence because you need to make a purchase, regardless of the actual cost, you can download it on your phone for free! You won't have access to every character, but you have the entire rest of the game available so you can kinda treat it like a demo.
Happy sneaking!

Amazing great with an interesting concept. Not the easiest thing in the world to get used to but it feels great when you get the hang of it. Actually one of the most risk reward games i own with a sense of paranoia and instinct when someone knows where you are. Amazing game that doesn't feel cheap(at times lol).

I'm game dev on a small team. Whenever we have a major disagreement on our project, we do an Invisigun battle and the winner makes the call. GG!

TLDR: This is one of the best multiplayer games I've ever had the privilege of finding out about, but before you buy it gather some friends around or head into the discord server.
I love this game. The visuals and sound are beautiful. This is my second time purchasing the game, there's Crossplay between all platforms except ps4. Its perfectly simple yet deep. Be the last person standing, everyone is invisible. Its nuanced yet it doesn't take alot of mechanical skill. Its a game about creeping into the minds of your opponents and reading what they would do next, its like a 2D fighter in that sense.
The single player campaigns are unique and interesting. Theyre tailor made for the character you decide to play, and the concepts you learn in the campaign can really help you in the multiplayer games.
And as a multiplayer game this game is phenomenal, matches are tense and exciting, especially with a seasoned opponent. You have to be as perceptive as you can. It can be hard keeping track of where you are. Bumping into another person accidentally creates exilerating moments as each player scrambles to suddenly defend themselves and live.
The online isn't perfect. The netcode works but the delay can be annoying especially if youre not in the same region as everyone else. The matchmaking doesnt work since there arent any players.
But if you can find the people to play with this is genuinely one of the best multiplayer games ever, if not the game is still remarkably from its bot matches and single player puzzle campaign, but bot matches arent the same as a human opponent.

Gives me Bomberman tingles but with the modern day sensibilities and style of something like Towerfall. For me though, this trumps both due to its plethora of game modes, maps, unique and diverse characters and, ultimately, the ribbon that ties it all together: the invisibility.
In Invisigun Heroes it's about reading your foes and anticipating their position; looking and listening for subtle cues -- footsteps in the sand/snow, splashes in the water, impact thuds against walls; cooking up strategies with your hero for the mode and map you're on; snagging pickups to aid your chances of success. Sometimes it's good to just stand still and use your senses to pinpoint players and make a surgical strike, other times you'll need to just use your intuition and bulldoze in there.
It blows my mind that this was made by one guy because it's so polished with a cracking little tutorial, field guide and hero profiles, a snappy UI as well as beautiful pixel art and a fittingly pulsing arcade soundtrack (Shadi Muklashy worked on the HAWKEN soundtrack which was also great). Gah, Invisigun Heroes deserves much more love.
Add to all this that it's got online and local multiplayer as well as a LAN/private IP mode and you're looking at a dynamite package for party play. I've only played locally and it was a total blast, but I hear that the Discord channel is the place to go to arrange online games.
For £11 it's a no-brainer if you're partial to some good ol' fashioned multiplayer arcade action.
Oh, and it's not exactly a game for solo play. There's a single-player challenge mode which is good to cut your teeth on, but it's best enjoyed against real people.

Invisigun - what an absolutely glorious indie gem! If you read no further, go with your instinct and give this title a chance at the asking price – it’d be *criminal* to pass this one by. An amazing distillation of so many classic favourites from over the decades, combined with unique and highly clever mechanics, Invisigun has sunk its hooks into me from the first moment, and I can't wait to experience more. Think Bomberman with beautiful classic Zelda-inspired graphics, hints of Power Stone, and frissons of several other “greats”. And don’t even get me started on the soundtrack! Only a few hours in, I’m already awestruck by the love and polish evident in every aspect, the simple-to-learn-but-hard-to-master gameplay, and the genuine and immediately-apparent FUN. I don’t say this lightly – I see genuine brilliance evident in this game and give mad respect to its one-man developer.
Taking the narrow view, it's a great "party game" – but it doesn’t take much effort to reveal oh-so-much more under the surface. There's real strategy and skill involved, to be developed over a long period of practice and experience. Yes, it’s easy to jump into, but even in my first online multiplayer matches with evenly-matched opponents, I was finding myself embroiled in satisfying sparring matches of bluffs, jukes, and mindgames to anticipate the location of the competitors and bait them into my traps whilst avoiding the same in return. This is a case of satisfying my inner-competitive-strategist, but in digestible periods of time which work well with a busy lifestyle – a typical first-to-5-wins match often takes only five to ten minutes! Speaking of longevity, there are already 50 unique maps at launch, with deformable and otherwise-dynamic terrain, each of which favours unique strategy and caters to the skills of different characters. But I’m told there are already more maps on the way, and even another character!
I’m clearly all in favour of Invisigun but, as with any game at launch, there are a few issues that could be improved. And those mostly involve the online matchmaking. While it can be fun to learn maps by sparring with the bots in offline singleplayer, this game is undoubtedly at its best in live multiplayer. And there *are* people playing online! - but you wouldn’t necessarily know it unless you jump onto the Discord channel. You see, there is no online server browser – you can only choose which region (or “all”/”best” regions) you wish to connect to, then search for an open match to jump into. But unless a host is actually sat in their created lobby, waiting for players to join, then you won’t know the server even exists because you cannot join matches in progress, even to sit in the lobby. And if a multiplayer match is partially filled out with bots (optional), then those bots fill the available slots for human players to join. So for all practical purposes right now, you’ve got to jump onto the Discord channel and do your matchmaking there. However, the developer seems to be very aware of these issues and I have faith that they will be addressed in due course. On the other hand, my early interaction with the player community through Discord has been an entirely positive experience!
To me, this game is a real treasure find – the kind I sift through endless product release pages and games bundles hoping to discover. I had no idea it even existed before launch, and it arrived without any hype on Steam. Were it not for a casual glance at the “new releases” list for the day and a few minutes with a Twitch stream by LEMental, it might have passed me by entirely. What an unjust fate that such an expertly crafted and outstanding title be left unnoticed by the masses due to underexposure. Well! - hopefully those of us lucky enough to find it, and sing its praises, bring more of our fellow gamers into the fold! One only needs to know it it exists and to try it, then the quality of the game speaks for itself. So grab it, then come find us on Discord! https://discord.gg/ycEhg2Q

I bought this game yesterday to play with 4 friends locally and it did not dissapoint.
We played for three hours straight and were laughing, swearing and having a great time. So much so that we're already planning when we can meet up and play again.
The unique concept of everyone being invisible including yourself makes for and excellent mix of strategy and also hilarous random luck. The majority of your kills will feel earnt but every now and then you'll get a satisfying lucky shot.
The game has tonnes of levels each with unique environments and hazards that effect the gameplay. There are also 8 modes although we felt come worked better with the main concept than others. We mostly played survival as the standard hunting each other was just so much fun.
As for the online, I have a feeling that the playerbase won't be an issue for too long as the game is rapidly increasing in popularity. All 3 of the friends I played with have now bought the game and plan to play it online.
I highly reccomend this game, even if you haven't got anyone to play with as it's worth the time finding a group to play with just to play this game.

You don't need friends to play this game. Just join the awesome official discord channel (advertised in-game) and you will find matches in no time and have lots of fun with your new friends!
