I used this for maybe just under an hour before deciding I didn't like it. Some point later, I tried to get a refund for it only to find that it had been running in the background and accumulated usage time all the while! So as far as Steam was concerned, I had used it for twelve hours and therefore was not eligible for a refund. I had explained this to Steam but to no avail. Irritated at Steam for not acknowledging this and this software for being the only one on Steam I've seen that doesn't close when you close it. Takeaway: If you're going to try it, make sure you actually kill it in task manager in case you want a refund before exceeding 2 hours of usage.

One of the rare few game recording software that works well with low-end systems reliably. Extremely low overhead (2-4% CPU), reliable capture, plus actual support for a variety of hardware encoding that works, such as .h264 intel quicksync, .h264 AMD, .h264 Nvidia, HEVC Nvidia, HEVC Intel, and of course, CPU encoding.

coming from OBS which kept producing stutters, this here is unbelievable. No performance loss, no stutter, but the resulting file size is nothing for slow upload connections. All in all, I am happy :) Got it on sale, it's been well worth it.

Unfortunately I had to request a refund (unclear if it will get accepted as I tested for around 5 hours). In addition: Refund was declined. I said Steam that they should remove the software from my account, as I don't want to have stuff in my account that doesn't work properly on my end. So almost €40 blown away. DO NOT buy this on Steam, before you haven't tried a trial version! If it would have been a game, I would have kept it in my account as I can even play games which are garbage (as Aliens: Colonial Marines for example). But a recording software which performs bader than Fraps for me, is absolutely out of use for myself. You may have better expierence, but be sure to try the 15 days trail before you buy it: http://www.d3dgear.com/ I cannot understand why ANY output video performs in a choppy way with 45 to 60 FPS, while my Fraps record has a pretty constant frame rate, with a few lags here and there. I wanted to change my recording tool, as Fraps indeed needs a lot performance. But this tool isn't the one, sadly. No matter what settings I chose, the output video never performs that good as my Fraps records. I save both onto my HDD (WD Black) and I really wonder why Fraps is recording better than this program. Yet, I've to look for another alternative or stick with those lags here and there I get through my Fraps record. The thing is, I can play fine with D3DGear. Better than with Fraps. However, I don't give a damn about how my game performs while I record it, I just want smooth output videos. The game is laggy with Fraps, but the video outcome is not. The game runs fine with D3DGear, but the output video is a laggy mess. I've tried any setting and codec, but none satisfied my needs. I may give bandicam a shot or really stick with the demanding Fraps. But this is a clear "No" from me.

I have been using D3DGear to record my YouTube videos for over a year, and I must say that I have enjoyed using this product. Although certain games do not work with the recording device, for example Panzermadels, free RPG games, and a few other games along those areas. If I eveer had a technical problem with D3DGear, I have had members of D3DGear respond to me within one day's notice and sort the issues with the recording dvice, as soon as they are notified. Definitely worth the price, along with great customer support and quite simple to use options for the application :)

Do not purchase this software. It does not record microphone audio to a second track, and all but one codec option work in Premiere Pro (because of variable framerate). The UI is poorly implemented, with some things having drop down menus where there should be sliders (like the VOLUME), and other things not having enough options (like being able to have a two button combo to start recording). if you're thinking of getting this to replace OBS, don't bother, OBS is better. see below for a more indepth view of what I think of this recording software

I found this software relatively easy to use. HOWEVER, I learned how to use the basic features from a YouTube instruction vid. I've read the reviews where most people seemed to pick up the app processes out of the box. Well, not for me, I was getting frustrated BUT after watching a how-to YT vid. I like it. Although, there needs to be more expansion on the animated GIF part, for one thing there is no GIF format. Overall, watch the vids and I think you'll be quick to pick up on how well this app works. 5 peaches out of 5 :-)

After recording a short gameplay video I tried to edit it with my video editing software. After conversion, the audio was off and video was choppy. After that, I purchased Action and recorded the same gameplay. After I edited with action, I had no issues with my video. I ended up removing D3DGear from my PC.

This recording software is deffenitly worth the price tag, I had an issue with it working with GTA5 so I posted up a topic about it and the Devolper was real quick to respond, and his team fixed the problem, You don't get support like that. Deffenitly an A+ This software is easy to use, and it can capture pretty much any fullscreen game, it can also capture the desktop and it has an option to capture VR. Can take screenshots and it has a benchmarking tool kinda like Fraps. And you can record in many different Encoders and formats. I'm impressed. You can stream with it as well, but I have not tried it due to poor internet speeds, so I really can't comment on that. My only gripe about this software is that it don't have any options to change your bit rate manually, you have to select a pre loaded quality like Good/Better/Best. Deffenitly worth it if you are into recording gameplay but dislike OBS and Shadowplay, Not to meantion D3DGear can use the shadowplay encoder, NVENC for them on a lower end side of things, you loose almost no performance while recording.

I love this software. While I haven't used any other game recording software with which to compare it, I know that it is good because even a goober-noob-face like myself can go from zero to recording all of my gameplay in no time at all. The controls and settings are intuitive and it captures video flawlessly. I have never used the streaming, so I can't attest to its functionality. The fact that I am even writing a review is a testament to how much I like it, as I am typically too lazy and shy to bother with it.
