Really fun and surprisingly addicting, I was actually sad once I fully completed the story mode because my addiction was still in full swing! I didn't play this game as a kid so I don't have nostalgia for the original but I did enjoy the retro vibes. The steam release can be a bit buggy and does crash sometimes. Thankfully the game does autosave frequently, and even with the bugs the gameplay is so fun it was worth it to me. I would LOVE if steam released the other Chocolatier games!

I used to play this game as a kid, i was so excited to buy it again. It had felt like my childhood was coming back to life. So i bought it; come to find out it crashes every time you turn around. You'll have to go complete quest you have already done. It will potentially crash your computer as well.
I do not recommend paying 10 dollars for the game, if you do wanna buy it buy it on sales. they really need to update and debug the game.

I love the chocolatier franchise but it doesn't work very well on newer versions of windows. I use windows 11 and it crashed 3 times and froze my computer so hard I couldn't open task manager. I'd love to be able to play this game for hours but it's old enough that it's just not an option. maybe it'll work for older windows but it doesn't work for newer versions

Here are some things you should know about this game on modern hardware before you decide to buy:
1) playing in fullscreen is going to cause a bunch of issues that you probably won't be able to fix, so you'll want to go with windowed.
2) the windowed screen cannot be resized under any circumstances. It's 800x600 and NOTHING will change that. Not even runtime editors can solve this.
Essentially you ought to play in windowed mode and deal with the tiny resolution. The only real remedy to this is to lower your system resolution so that the game window is comparatively larger on your screen. I would say that if you aren't willing to do that in order to play this game, then do not buy it.
