As a failed bass player, I really appreciate Necrodancer without the rhythm mechanics. I jest. I haven't felt "ong more run" in a long time outside of StS2. I'm only 4 hours in and I am so hooked. I did not expect the roguelike mechanics to be so robust when I bought this. It's the weapon variety of Hades and a simple way of playing that actually has a LOT of mastery, strategy, and whacky chaos coming out of a tiny skele block.
Also, who doesn't love a game with a sense of humor? In my ripe age of 34 I have fallen out of love with finding stories in games and now I just play them. But, I have read every dialogue interaction and I am not annoyed yet. Usually I find a lot to like about a game, but I'm kind of in love. Which goes against my new philosophy that a strong sense of emotion is not the same of love and I'm only 4 hours in...... We will probably be broken up by the time you read this review, but I feel like I already got my 12$ worth, and I haven't unlocked ♥♥♥♥.

Very weird and silly game. It's round-based but also kinda real-time.
It's overall very easy and not very strategic to play, though. There are only good items that allow you to win the game blindfolded and bad items that literally shoot yourself in the foot.

The game is creative and genuinely fun. However, right now, the weapons and abilities feel like two completely separate systems, with very little synergy between them. Some of the weapons also feel pretty unbalanced.
The game still needs more balancing and more meaningful interactions between weapons and abilities. I’m looking forward to seeing more interesting content added in future updates.

As someone with difficulties moving his fingers, I expected a turn-based game, it kinda is, but the evade and parry mechanics are not. Which makes for clunky movements that I cannot reliably do.
The game is good, Lulu is better. I would love to play more of it, be it by having an option to remove time based mechanics. But in this situation my experience was not good, because of my own disabilities, I know, still, if you expect a tpt game, this ceases to be one after a while
