This game is quite boring and feels dated, but without the magic of the classics. There is a rumor that one or more of the creators is suffering from what I have heard called "reverse telescoping microbenis syndrome" and it really shows in the gameplay.

This game is playable, so ill give it that. The music is nice and so are the particle effects, but that's about it. The dialog in the "story" is just horrible and the game is voice acted.... BY JUST FOUR DIFFERENT NON-VOICE ACTORS! So the characters sound like they are in a cheesy high school play. I also think the HUD and menu screens are unappealing and bland. Not to mention the game is hideously overpriced. It also is just generally not fun. Like I understand that this indie game was made with love by a few collage students, but I still don't think this game is good enough to win me over.

A really low budget rip off of Subspace/Continuum. The controls are awkward, the graphics are bad, the voice overs are so bad it's hilarious. The multiplayer is empty, even when the game is 90% off on Steam. Even at 90% off I don't recommend this.

The dedicated server program stalls most of the time. According to Steam, the game kept running even through computer restarts, and apparently runs under a different alias in Task Manager, since all Yargis-related tasks were shut down, and was still unable to uninstall.

This is a playable game with a little bit of challenge and complexity. But it's less than ideal. For some reason the game starts in an overworld where you can careen your ship into the same level over and over again if you don't want to challenge yourself. The level designs are very crude and could have stood some refinement over the years. I played up to a level that increases the difficulty so sharply that it would take days of grinding the lower levels to be able to pass.
Everybody talks about the voiceovers being "cringe", but the actual problem is that no effort was put into acting out the characters: if you listen to a video of the developers you realize they used their everyday voices for the entire script; so it's no wonder the tough space soldiers sound like nerdy programmers.
Overall, this game is an interesting example of a small team project that was probably made mostly for the fun of the experience, but I can't recommend it as a particularly engaging game for the players.

Literally one of the worst games I have ever played . This is a python game made for a first year 101 gaming college course being sold as some sort of finished product on Steam. Hot Garbage. Do not buy.

im actually surprised that the game's mixed, as i genuinely did enjoy my time with it, and its always nice to actually see more games with a tyrian 2000/JnG weapon system where you can literally change your weapons between stages and armor and the like, mad respect to the devs for it!

This one is a close call, because this concept is extremely over-used at this point, but despite that I think the game is OK.
First of all, the game is extremely short, despite 1k players playing at the time I played, I could not find a game with anyone in it, and the story mode lasts about 1 and a half hours.
The graphics and look of this game are exactly like all the other million or so games like this, such as Gaia, Space Shooter, Beat Hazard, the list goes on and on.
The voice lines are ok, its pretty obvious the developer, and his friends/family where the voice actors, but its nice they put in the effort.
The plot only had 2 typos, and no errors, as someone who has a read a lot of books, I have had to lower my standards a LOT when it comes to indie game plots, this one was surprisingly good.
The levels where unbalanced but creative, you weren't just shooting things like in every other space game.
Again, theres a bit to this game that makes it unique, but 99% of it you can find in every other top down spaceship game.

Bought this hoping it'd be a traditional newtownian space shooter like Asteroids or Subspace/Continuum. It's more a twinstick style shooter. Single player sucks pretty hard. There's no real challenge. The game uses an RPG style inventory system and gives you money for doing missions but you can't buy anything meaningful for a very long time. The "story" is told through cutscenes full of cringeworthy voice acting and stock character portraits. Back to playing vanar.io I guess.

Game's pretty bad, ngl. Game would've benefit greatly from having an actual decent story without spelling mistakes, and just cutting out the voice acting entirely. It's bad enough that it's better to not have it.
