It works in VR (with a trick)! But first: I do not understand the negative reviews: It does what it is supposed to do, even with thermal lifts and nice places (Gibraltar, Jordan, Dolomites, Switzerland etc). Distant objects look very good (clouds, sky, landscape), close textures not so much (sat images resolution.)
Given the super low price and the small dev- “team”, some bugs are not surprising:
- the sound is switched off after install (you just have to turn it up – that’s all) and
- the mouse-controlled view can flip over (up-side-down) after start, but you can readjust easily and play, and
- during the tutorial I had many crashes, but that was due to wrong keystrokes the tutorial-message-click-away-procedure did not like.
However in the real maps/missions I could fly without crashes in Jordan, Dolomites, and Gibraltar for quite some time until I just quit. And I did this in VR with a third party software, which makes crashes more likely.
With vorpx.com it works in Virtual Reality (tested with a Vive)! You need experience with vorpx and need to use a unity engine profile (I used Firewatch-profile). VR-Simulation bonus: some can get really sick while VR-flying, like the real thing ;-)
Its not a AAA-game you gone spend 2-digit hours in, but a simple and working simulation with places you might never fly for real. 60 €-cent on sale (coming with an option for a VR-hack)? No-brainier for me!

This game is one of, if not the worst game on the entire Steam store. The 30 minutes I've played have been trying to play multiplayer with a friend. We've fallen through several mountains, have flown upwards, got stuck in the starting screen, and lost our cursors on the menu screen countless times. Here is a other list of flaws that we have found
[list]
[*] The menu sliders are messed up. Sometimes it uses an entirely different slider than the one you want to use
[*] The colour select screen also doesn't really work. It always picks a colour more to the left than the one you want
[*] Some maps are basically impossible. The Dune and the French map are just flat.
[*] The terrain is a weird mix of Unity models, extremely low-res textures that look like they have been made on a free trial of Paint 3d, and just straight-up Google Earth
[*] On the Alps map, there is a blue parachute with someone there. If you walk on the parachutes you fall through the map.
[*] Multiplayer is a mess. You can only host or join while gliding, so you can't start together without some tedious planning.
[*] Multiplayer hardly works. You're lucky if you can join, even luckier if you can leave the menu while in a multiplayer game and extremely lucky if one of you sees the other. We haven't been able to actually glide with eachother.
[*] If you have a dual-monitor setup, and play it in windowed mode (You have to do this if you want to use a cursor in multiplayer), it starts in the middle of the two monitors. That's right, it starts on both monitors
[*] The tutorial is impossible. You are prompted to use certain buttons, but those buttons crash the game.
[*] If you press the "I" button in multiplayer, you are teleported to the start, but your glider keeps on gliding. From the start, you can walk around to remotely controll your glider.
[*] The game crashes a bunch. Be prepared to restart it a lot.
[*] A very specific flaw, but I'm still amazed at how they screwed it up. One of the menu sliders' labels is too long, so if you slide it to 10, the last part of the label dissapears.
[*] You can fly upwards in a spiral if you want. But be careful, if you get underneath the map (not difficult), you can crash by hitting the bottom of the map.
[*] If you crash, you have to go back to the menu, and have to repick the map if you want to try again.
[*] After flying for about 20 minutes and landing, my friend had 4 points. Just 4.
[*] If you're gliding, you are much smaller than if you are walking, and are smaller than the NPC's on the ground.
[*] I've got stuck in the "Missions" sign 2 times, without even trying
[*] I've said it before, but this game might be the most hideous game I've seen on steam.

This game is a joke, which is also the only reason you should buy it. My throat is sore from laughing about how terrible this is. I would almost recommend this game for the fun it has brought me, but I can't let myself give any bit of kudo's to the maker(s) of this game.

I spent an hour of my life watching a boomerang shaped arm hold a ring. I hope it somehow gets better though, someday this game may be the next Skyrim. But for now.. NONONO

After a little more than 1 hour of playing, my jaw is still dangling at my chest. Please..Please tell me that this is an early development, pre-alpha release.
I am all pro indie development, and it is only fair that everybody with a game on their mind gets a chance to show there creations to the world, but please.. please have an actual product when you start to release, even if it is an early access product, as are the majority of games I usually opt in for, if they have my interest in the first place.
You can get FREE web based games in the Roblox engine primarily made by 13 year old kids, with better UI, Graphics, Sound, Animation, Player Controls - and the list goes on..
Wow - for the first time in my Steam life, I am actually going to ask for a refund.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
eldrarak82, - im gonna do it this way instead of another comment, since they must be less than a 1000 characters..
Graphics have muliple glitches.
The sound of the air when gliding is a one take loop that gets pretty ugly to listen too after 20 min,
The sound of the vario only kicks in when you hit one of the "square" static thermal bubbles so no ridge flying here.
Thermal square boxes may not provide you lift unless you spiral violently when you pass through them, so forget about gaining height while passing through, or in some cases like I experienced in The Alps short after take off, you may encounter 250+ feet per second doing nothing. At first I found that glitch hilarious, but at 50k above sea level I bailed out because it was just sad to watch..
The minimap is mostly just a blue square in the upper right corner, and you cannot turn it off once turned on, unless you land.
If you have ever been paragliding, skydiving, riding an ATV MC JetSki, Rollerblading skiing or just walking, you now that it is all about weight shifting, and there is no such thing in this simulator, NONE, there is only left and right that makes the glider tilt left or right, to give the "impression" of gravity pulling you around.
Animation ... well the arms move up and down.. Thats It, basicly a Cartoon Jumping Jack like the ones you hang on a kids wall.
The UI is to da** smal for my mouse pointer to catch, there is no way of reconfiguring controls.
The glidersize, the sound, the wind strength, the glider speed, is all choosen on sliders with the value of 1 to 10.
