Black Hole Fishing Reviews

Black hole fishing is a completely normal incremental game about fishing. Don't expect to stock the pond with genetically modified fish, discover an infinite cavern full of ponds to consume, or destroy the entire planet by feeding infinite fish to a singularity. Honestly, it's just a fishing game.

fun game but needs optimization BADLY! late game ends up playing like a slideshow ranging from 20fps to 5 and UI becomes unstable and slow. Although the gameplay is fun most of the late game is just headache enducing

Actually fun game. Even better if you need something to play without paying full attention. Didn't expect it to have that many mechanics and exploring all new upgrades was very satisfying. With that said, the game is lacking a little in balance. The early game is very slow, while the endgame is extremely fast. The mid game was easily the best part of the game with pretty consistent progress. Overall, very interesting game, especially for that price.

10% Dark Blue Pike 80% CMY-K Sturgeon 10% Butter Platysaurus Weird pacing tbh, you're stuck in the midgame for ages just resetting at 1B, and then it's all over really quick. It's fun enough but the DNA mechanic being the most interesting part is actually really shallow - there's really only one heavy fish and you just use the same traits and colours the whole time because it's clearly the optimal strat. It would be more interesting if different species of fish scaled better with specific traits or colours so you were actually encouraged to experiment and test everything but since increasing the hole's mass is the aim of the game you are really only incentivised to play with the sturgeon. This game desperately needs some hotkeys. Not being able to close menus with ESC or quickly dispatch fish to cannon or DNA with a hotkey is painful and clunky. Being kicked out of the menu you're in when buying the upgrades for half the game until you unlock the prestige trait to keep them unlocked is also annoying. Overall a fun game to ♥♥♥♥ about with and 8 hours for a 100% at its price point seems fair. I had enough fun but it could have been a lot more polished and interactive.

It was truly an amazing experience playing this game. After almost 10 hours I am able to say that I 100% this game. I really like some features that you do not see other games implement. The time spent playing this game was surely well worth it!

Very enjoyable incremental fishing game. The negative reviews I saw seemed to have an issue with the pacing, balancing, and framerate in the late game. I didn't have an issue with any of this. I found the pacing to be quite nice. As with most of these games, it starts off slow with manual effort, but speeds up significantly with more automation after a handful of resets. You can eventually breed top-rate fish and preserve them through resets so that you're off to the races as soon as you start again. Visually it is very appealing. There are plenty of mechanics which lead to greater income and additional prestige points. I didn't experience any bugs and none of the achievements were problematic. Overall just a nice, casual experience.

I spent way more time fiddling with game mechanics than I should have. This game is a little incremental. Enjoy it. I look forward to seeing what changes come in the future!

very creative and fun game!! I feel like there was no reason for the different biomes, i stayed in the default and finished the game. Also the end game is very quick and not very exciting. The beginning is the best part.

Pretty much what it says on the tin, it's fun to try and max out fish values without looking anything up

Oh my god, no. This is awful, grindy and boring. I wanted to get all the achievements for this. To get the last achievement, I'd have to triple my current play time... and it's already more than I wanted. To make that worse... it wiped my save, the tool in game for finding your save is abysmal. So I'll just settle for 16/17 achievements then will I? The game is... you have a pond, you have things that put fish in the pond. You have to throw rocks near the fish to get them to go into the black hole. Eventually you get enough money to fish for better fish to put in the cloners and throw rocks to get them into the black hole. Eventually there's a reset mechanic, make a tiny amount of reset points to upgrade your gains... There's this like fish breeding, and keeping the best fish. I didn't really understand the breeding, I just made a bunch of fish worth a ton of money and hoped for the best. Unfortunately, the game drags on. A lot. Not in a fun way, you get barely any prestige point things (I forgot what they were called) You need 999 of them to win the game to get the last achievement. Your choice is a boring arse RNG fest to get more out of a fish with a lot of waiting. Or reset a WHOLE LOT. It was then that it lost my save... So I'd have to get back to where I was AND do the grind. No. Just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ no. Thank you for reading or skipping to the end. Have a lovely day. Unless you made this game. Don't have a lovely day until you make it less boring.

Pacing is quite stilted; too slow to start, too fast to finish. But undeniably charming, well-written and enjoyable. Definitely worth the price.
