I can't in good conscience give this game a bad review. Was there times that I got pissed off by having to do 3 play throughs to get all the achievements? Of course. Were there times when I got bored of the repetitiveness? Absolutely. The first hour started off pretty good. When things are good, it gives a really satisfying experience of feeling like you're this actual big brain hacker. I like how it gives options for you to skip around some missions if you don't want to do it all and just want the achievements and get it over with. The story feels sparse most of the time but when it's getting down, it was actually pretty good. The final missions were well made and a lot of fun. Overall, I don't really think this game is subjectively for me, but as a whole product, it's a well-built and solid labor of love from the creator and I would recommend it.

This game so good for who that want to start their career in this hacking things. But atleast their must a little bit knowledge in IT. Especially in Networking knowledge because it's testing your mind to solving hacking stuff and these stuff relate a lot with networking and practical solutions. anyway it's a good game !!

This was a really fun game, definitely one of my favorites. Hacknet captures the feeling of being the hacker in a movie. I never thought typing in a command prompt could feel tense, but with the awesome music and graphics I got really immersed. If you like UNIX command prompts, or want a fun way to practice some of those commands, this is the game for you.

This game is amongst the best I've had the honour of playing. It's not a simple thing to code a good hacking themed game: Hacknet not only manages to do that, it also manages to have great writing, funny puns, an interesting storyline (the DLC does too!), and well thought out missions. It's genuinely just a great game (and it's not too difficult, even if you aren't well versed in IT). If you've considered buying it, please do so. You won't regret it. Wonderful game, with wonderful music too.

Fun text-based adventure game that emulates old-school hacking in a very movie-like way. There's a few adrenaline rushing moments and surprising events. It's not for everyone, but I enjoyed it greatly.

Challenging puzzles, fun mechanics, engaging stories, and a great soundtrack. If you're a patient gamer that enjoys being presented with detailed tasks in narrative form and taking the time to work through enigmatic webs of mystery this is the game for you. Sure, it has its high stress moments where you have to work quickly, but Hacknet does not overuse the mechanic and allows you to think your way though complicated scenarios. The game over mechanics are forgiving as most of the enjoyment comes from the well written storyline and satisfaction you feel when you finally solve the mystery. There is the added bonus of workshop content and being able to create your own campaigns as well.
