DLC is 75% ready at this stage. It's like a friend with benefits - fun time together but no deep feelings. Pros: + SPACE!!! PLANETS!!! Wow. That's COOL!!! Thank you, Spiderling Studios. + Awesome optimization (even on my old laptop). I was amazed by these visuals. + Interesting levels and new enemies. Enemies are not revolutionary by function, but space theme is fresh. It was nice. + Cool blocks and new mechanics. Thrusters are very powerful, inertial steering makes controls very enjoyable. I would say these two blocks are next steps in game's evolution. Fuel system is entertaining. Cons: - Buggy levels. Ex. level 80: pieces of enemies destroying other enemies, making it harder to score, because there are less objects to destroy. - Buggy progress. I finished all the levels, but my progress was not saved. They are locked again - I need to start from level one. - Sandbox distances are small and not all planets are reachable. Not much to do there. - Some block are useless. New wheels are meh, Fuel Hoses need to pass fuel one way to work as designed. I recommend to try this DLC after major updates.

The Broken Beyond retains Besiege's whimsical, semi-medieval style despite its outer space theme. Moreover, all the new blocks are useful without rendering others obsolete. I liked this expansion far more than The Splintered Sea and would absolutely recommend it to fans of the game.

Most of the distant planets in the sandbox are just part of the skybox it appears and are not real, there goes any deep space exploration fun - what a let down

idk how nobodys talking about it but wheres zone 79 spiderling??? looks to be the most interesting level featuring a black hole. at first i thought the button was broken when selecting this on the level map but upon completing zone 78 and clicking next zone I went from zone 78 straight to zone 80. The games been out for over half a decade and still charging for content that isnt available is crazy will change my review if this ever gets fixed as i thought zones 77 and 81 were fun :)

Decent DLC and a lil bit lacking campaign but overall its good enough, tho you cannot reach the sun in the sandbox and some magical dark energy like forces start disassembling your machine after traveling 100km away or so.

Spiderling Studios cooked. This works GREAT. They added a lot of new & very usefull parts, and the campaign is very fun to play! Building a rocket is more challenging than i expected, and the space physics work super well. Absolutely recommended!

Aerial refuelling? In my medieval engineering game? --- In all seriousness, an official fuel system is exactly what I needed most in Besiege. I felt it all too easy to make arbitrarily powerful aircraft (or missiles) that were missing the thing that takes up the most space in an aircraft - fuel tanks. Rocket planes (and rockets!) are a new and welcome challenge that will keep the game fresh for me, and most blocks added in this expansion are a much-needed, jank-free solution that I can use on all kinds of aircraft. No more brace-powered reaction wheels! While I would personally like more attention given to atmospheric simulation and more interesting fuel-powered weapons, the content in this DLC is well worth the asking price, and the developers' continued attention to improving Besiege even after so many years deserves high praise. --- I give The Broken Beyond 8 wooden drop tanks out of 10 wing hardpoints.

It's not rocket science! Oh wait... Those first desperate attempts to defeat gravity and make it to the edge of space, "to boldly go" and all that malarky. A great new addition to this superb game,

Just 100%-ed the DLC in about 2 hours. I would give it a solid 6/10. The Good: The new physics are just AMAZING! Coming from KSP, this game feels on par with orbital complexities while being MUCH more hands on. The views! OH MY GOD this game just knows how to look amazing! This DLC keeps to the par set by the rest of the game...and then some! I was blown away by how space looked. The missions, even with how lacking it is (I will get into it more in the bad). The missions that are given are enjoyable to complete with none of them posing as a impossible challenge. My personnel favorite is the landing mission where you try to land in the middle of the target. New blocks! Boosters are PERFECT!!! The sound, look and effects make them the best block design in the game! The RCS and reaction wheels are also very nice and have their pros and cons which make it a fun game to choose which you need to use for different situations. The new wheels also look amazing but don't really add much other than that...and then we have the blaster...which I will cover in the bad The Bad: The distances...are WAY to close. Going from surface to orbit to space can all happen within a few seconds of thrust input, making orbiting tedious to achieve. The required deltaV to de-orbit is sooooooo small that even using RCS can throw you out. Lacking missions. Compared to the ocean DLC which seemed to touch every point of new stuff to use. This DLC felt lacking when it came to mission variety and even need to make new builds. I was expecting more planet to planet travel (only 1 mission). Stuff like transporting goods to space or placing a satellite in orbit could have been very fun additional mission styles. HELL, re-entering atmosphere was meant to be a challenge with heating up but I never encountered any of it! Dunas (the sandy race map) is verrry small which makes the horizon REALLLY close. Therefore driving on it can make you motion sick really quickly. The blaster...sucks! Its just a reload-able crossbow...which is already a pretty meh weapon to begin with! My first use of them was against the flying enemies and I was shocked when I saw it couldn't kill them! Like the new weapon CANT kill the new enemy?! Overall... Its a decent DLC, the ocean one was MUCH better. I feel like the devs need to give us a bit more in terms of missions and I would easily bump it from a 6/10 to an 8/10. I am curious to see what the community will do when it comes to mission making (but it seems like the multiplayer community is kinda dead right now)
