Framed Fear Steam Charts & Stats

You must discover the differences between what you see through the camera and with your own eyes to distinguish real floors from fake ones and escape. It is said that ghosts behave the opposite of humans, and taking the elevator is no exception.

Playtime: 50 minutes
The idea of seeing something through a camera is not anything new, but using that as a mechanic for finding differences is an interesting game mechanic, and I actually liked that aspect of it. I also liked the idea that something was hunting you, but only when you were looking through the camera and could see it. I wish I could have experienced that more, but I couldn't get that far. Here's my honest opinion. The good: The game is very stable with very little glitches or bugs. The environment is sufficiently spooky without being over the top. The background sounds were quite good, although I could never really determine if they were important. For example, I would suddenly hear whispers, and I always wondered if there was something I should do when I heard them, but I couldn't seem to find anything through the camera that would suggest that. Also there's this weird "zip" sound that REALLY sounds like it's part of the gameplay (like a auditory way to letting the player know they found everything) But, I couldn't tell if that was the case or not. The speed you move was refreshingly fine. Sometinges I get games and the movement is SO slow, but not the case here. The Bad: I don't mind games that don't hold your hand. However, going in blind to this game, I had no idea what kind of game it was. I figured out it was an anomaly detection game after playing for about 15 minutes. This game would GREATLY benefit from a tutorial, and perhaps some on-screen instructions. Here's why this is important... The elevator has an up and a down button. There are no instructions given in the game to explain which one to press. at first, I thought it didn't matter, and maybe it doesn't... but I don't know because this game lacks instruction. The controls are fine with the exception of the interact and flashlight. Flashlight should ALWAYS be F, and interact should ALWAYS be E or mouse click. That's just industry standard for walking sim horror games. While the environment is spooky, it lacks tension unless the rabbit ghost guy is hunting you. This should happen more often, or there should be jump scares hidden throughout the floors. Perhaps the would only happen when you look through the camera, which would make using the camera a lot scarier. Overall rating: 2 out of 10. This game and dev have potential. They introduced a novel concept to a finding anomalies game, but the lack of instruction, and lack of scares makes the game kinda boring. I think some easy improvements to this concept would be to increase the frequency of the hunting rabbit guy, and seed random jump scares through the camera to make using the camera a necessary terror.
