the original zuma was pretty good, but this one is actual peak. not only is the adventure much more expansive and better, but the amount of side modes in this one is satisfactory, everything that made the og zuma good is also here, the ultimate revenge

The marbles and the background color blend very well, and playing this game for a long time will hurt your eyes, so please don't play this game for a long time, and take a break of 10 minutes or more before resuming the game.
Reviewed at hour 17 with 100% achievement completion.
I bought this together with Zuma Deluxe when I found out the Zuma series was on Steam. Didn’t expect much and honestly thought it was just another attempt to milk the series. But hey, I was wrong. And happily so.

Zuma’s Revenge isn’t just more of the same, it redesigned some of the core mechanics and even added new ones.
I was genuinely surprised when the game threw boss fights at me. BOSS FIGHTS! In a marble shooter!!! And somehow… they pulled it off. It’s actually creative and well-executed.
That same addictive feel from Zuma Deluxe is still here but this time it’s got more bite. I actually had to invest some time and really focus to get some of the achievements. It’s not a cakewalk, but that’s what made it satisfying to complete 100%.

Wasn’t expecting much but ended up impressed. A worthy sequel with more mechanics and a solid challenge. Zuma fans, this one’s worth your time.
A great game to add to someone's PopCap collection. The gameplay is pretty simple and intuitive the sound effect are satisfying and when you get a big combo it feels like a steak melting in your mouth. It's pretty reasonably priced and theres an older version of this game if you want some dessert afterwards. I like it when the frog spits out the balls and they all yell ZUMA

Zuma’s Revenge is a vibrant and engaging puzzle game that builds upon the successful formula of its predecessor, Zuma, by introducing new mechanics, improved visuals, and a more dynamic gameplay experience. Developed by PopCap Games, it continues to captivate players with its addictive marble-shooting gameplay, but adds fresh twists that keep the experience feeling lively and exciting. The game’s core challenge—matching and eliminating chains of colored balls before they reach the end of a path—is as compelling as ever, but Zuma’s Revenge elevates this concept with clever level design, boss battles, and power-ups that add layers of strategy and intensity.
One of the first things that stands out about Zuma’s Revenge is its polished presentation. The game is set in a lush jungle environment filled with bright colors, fluid animations, and detailed backgrounds that create an immersive, almost whimsical atmosphere. The visual design feels playful yet refined, making each level a feast for the eyes without overwhelming the player. The soundtrack complements the setting perfectly, blending upbeat, tropical-inspired tunes with sound effects that provide satisfying feedback for every shot and chain reaction. This combination of audio and visuals creates a cheerful, engaging environment that encourages players to keep coming back for “just one more” level.
Gameplay remains the heart of Zuma’s Revenge, and it excels in offering both simplicity and depth. Players control a stone frog that shoots colored balls toward advancing chains of spheres. The goal is to create groups of three or more matching colors to clear them before the chain reaches the end of the path, which leads to failure. While this core mechanic is straightforward, the game introduces new elements such as obstacles, multiple paths, and moving chains that require quick thinking and precise aiming. Boss levels add an exciting twist, requiring players to use their ball-shooting skills strategically against larger enemies that have unique attack patterns, further diversifying the gameplay.
The introduction of power-ups significantly enhances the strategic possibilities in Zuma’s Revenge. These power-ups can slow down the chain, explode multiple balls at once, or reverse the direction of the advancing spheres, providing players with critical tools to manage the increasing difficulty as levels progress. The game balances these elements well, ensuring that power-ups feel earned rather than handed out, which adds to the satisfaction of mastering each stage. Additionally, the pacing of difficulty ramps up steadily, making early levels accessible to newcomers while offering a genuine challenge for veterans seeking to perfect their skills.
Another strength of Zuma’s Revenge is its level variety and design creativity. The game features dozens of stages, each with unique layouts, multiple paths, and increasing complexity. The diverse settings and clever use of environmental hazards keep gameplay fresh and prevent the formula from becoming repetitive. The level design encourages players to adapt their strategies, sometimes prioritizing speed and precision, other times focusing on careful ball management and use of power-ups. This variety makes the game appealing to a broad audience, from casual players enjoying a quick puzzle session to hardcore fans aiming for high scores and perfect runs.
Despite its many positives, Zuma’s Revenge is not without minor flaws. Some players might find the difficulty spikes in later levels somewhat abrupt, especially when new obstacles and faster chains are introduced simultaneously. The reliance on precise aiming and timing can occasionally lead to frustrating moments, particularly on smaller or less responsive screens if playing on different platforms. However, these challenges generally enhance the sense of accomplishment once overcome rather than detract from the overall enjoyment. The game’s forgiving checkpoint system and the ability to replay levels also help mitigate frustration, allowing players to practice and improve without excessive penalty.
In conclusion, Zuma’s Revenge is a polished, entertaining, and highly addictive puzzle game that successfully expands upon the formula established by its predecessor. Its vibrant visuals, catchy soundtrack, and inventive level design create an engaging experience that appeals to a wide range of players. With a perfect balance of challenge and accessibility, combined with strategic depth brought by new gameplay mechanics and power-ups, it remains a standout title in the casual puzzle genre. Whether you are a longtime fan of marble-matching games or a newcomer looking for a fun and satisfying brain teaser, Zuma’s Revenge offers hours of colorful, fast-paced fun that’s hard to put down.
