Not a bad showing for Zephon's first expansion. Twisted & Hollow fulfills what it promises, with new map outposts, 2 new early and mid-game units for each affinity (all of which are pretty great), and a pair of new leaders to try them out with, plus full storylines and 4 new mutators. The soundtrack is quite good, as usual from Proxy.

It's simply fantastic that, in addition to the two new factions, there's also a general expansion of the game—new units, operations, items, map points, etc. Special starting units make all the factions more interesting. I really hope they continue to expand the game in this way!

Very good DLC for an excellent game.
The new factions have cohesive mechanics and are fun to play. And, as seems to be the new normal for paid DLC nowadays, they're definitely on the strong side. But I wouldn't go as far and say that they'd outclass their base game counterparts.
Most of the new units will find a place in their respective rosters with ease, the Voice one's, albeit usable, seem to be a tad lackluster though,
New events, landmarks and music are competently done too, no complaints there either. As are the new operations, which neatly plug holes in some of the faction's capabilities. Health steal for notoriously underarmored Voice units is a heaven-sent.
I've not encountered any seriously broken or outrageously overpowered stuff, and the devs are lightning-fast with hotfixes. A breath of fresh air in an industry where triple A publishers and plucky indie outlets alike tend to shove unfinished and bugged garbage out of the door with appaling frequency.
More of this please!

An excellent addition to the original game, with recent updates and DLC adding tons of research technology offering more unique strategies, content, unique styles of play while adding more quests and traits that can affect economy and the choices you make. The DLC offers two new leaders one of them being the Twisted Mother who offers a powerful trait and very useful abilities that fix some of the Voice issues in the past, generally being so weak, now have become a bit more tanky during my playthroughs. Her lore is fantastic and very interesting to discover on my journey. I can’t say much about the Hollow Warlord as it’s one of my least favourite character, but I do love his traits being able gain influence by attacking units and I do like that he is more of an aggressive Polynesian Leader something different in the game but lacks economy other than influence. Warlord is literally a warlord so if that’s your playstyle then ‘’Hell Yeah’’. Grab some weights, join the club and rev those engines.
Overall, it’s a fantastic DLC with lots of flavour and replayability. The Wildlife units are harder and more clever.
For people who like Diplomacy like me:
I find the Diplomacy an enjoyable experience. It is straight forward and simple, but the new update has added an aggressiveness value which increases based on the difficulty levels of the AI. I changed mine in the ‘’.xml’’ files to make it harder which I don’t believe the general audience should worry about. If you decide to play on harder levels, turn on ‘’Did Honour Balance Greed? ‘’ (Play at least 60% aggressiveness for increase difficulty)
Hopefully in the future they will have a separate option for Aggressiveness.
^^ This has increased my enjoyment on another level as the Diplomacy has become more engaging, interactive and allows enemies to switch sides easily, forces you to agree with trade offers, instigating an AI to break alliances or Trade Pact Agreements etc, with other AI Players can cause their aggressiveness towards you. That's why I love this game and this DLC.
Have fun!

A cool DLC if you want to expand content on the whole game.
Adds a few units to each type of faction that are fun although the voice units feel underwhelming and really need a buff.
The new characters are great and their unique storylines are awesome.
New music, events, etc. all add for more variety and a more satisfying playthrough.
TBF the only bad thing about the DLC is the "wastelander" unit for chieftess. Make no mistake the unit is fine but this unit should have been free. I get it was developed with the DLC funds but all other major faction shave 3 specials units. The chietess 3rd special unit is locked by DLC makes no sense for me.

I'm a bit of a fan of Zephon. I think it has many faults, but overall delivers a good package.
But having played the Hollow Warlord, I was soundly unimpressed. Gameplay-wise it's OK, but the lore and quest writing was so bad I ended up regretting my purchase. The word, I believe, is "Cringe".
Dear developers - please don't skimp on the writing in DLC. You can get away with it in the base game, which is full of much content, but the DLC is much narrower in scope and a drop in quality becomes extremely noticeable here.

The new content is fun. I'm just confused as to why a unit for an npc faction(wastelander for chieftess) is in a paid dlc and not an update.

Solid DLC that adds a sprinkle of new content across the board.
If you enjoy the base game and want more, then this DLC is a solid buy.
The Cyber and Human units are all fantastic and add a lot of alternative playstyles that can provide a much needed shakeup of the early game.
The voice units are underwhelming but absolutely gorgeous models - if you are a fan of Dead Space necromorphs then you are going to love them and I for one am hoping for more units with a similar design.
Speaking of new units, the Reavers get a War Rig. It's awesome.
As for the new commanders they are both interesting. The human warlord gives you the option to play hyper aggressive and be rewarded for doing so, while the Twisted Mother has less obvious boons and power spikes but instead has a lot of trickery, being able to teleport units, significantly bolster natural healing even after moving and reduce the effects of decay.
Her story is very well done also, playing well with the themes of love, family and eldritch cosmic horror.
Overall the DLC does not add anything major like a new faction or introduce anything huge, but it's a game wide content drop that just ads 'more', and the new units are really solid and add a lot of content, opening up solo faction theme builds to be more fun, and otherwise just spicing up gameplay.
If you enjoy the base game and still feel like booting it up to play another match, this DLC comes with a big thumbs up from me.
