As a lifelong horror fan who’s grown numb to most scary movies, Amber Alert hits like a jolt to the spine. Horror films just don’t do it for me the way they used to—but VR? That’s a whole different beast. And this game nails it. It’s the closest thing I’ve felt to stepping inside a true horror movie since I started dabbling with VR.
The tension is real. The unease is relentless. Just standing there, trying to peek out the window or glance over your shoulder to see if something is creeping up on you—it’s legit terrifying in the best way. It’s not about cheap jumpscares. It’s that creeping, “someone’s watching me” dread. That lingering fear.
The game feels like you're walking through the aftermath of The Strangers—pure chaos, cold silence, and a sense that whatever did this… is still nearby. The opening scene alone—with the phone ringing and a knock at the door—was worth the price of admission.
I've only played 18 minutes so far, but I’m completely sold. This is probably the second-best VR horror experience I’ve had—and to be fair, the #1 was a GTA mod, so it’s not even a fair comparison.
If you’re into horror and you actually want to be scared again—not just watch it happen to someone else on a screen—play this. Simple as that. This game brings horror back to life.
