Jacksmith is a great game. I am a big fan of the papas games so I thought I would give this one a go. I assumed it would be the same, potentially be boring, but it is different enough that it makes it very fun. the best difference is the battle aspect. Every weapon has thousands of different combos, i found it very very fun to try to maximize the damage and other traits so that i won the battles as often as possible. I would love to see more of the Flipline games remastered for steam! This was great! In total, it took me 21 hours to earn every achievement. I got to rank 54 in the process of doing this. The highest bonus time gems I earned was about 67. At the time of this review (21 hours), I have not yet 100% completed the beast logbook, element boosts, or gotten every epic weapon design. I plan to do this sometime, and probably play many more hours during, Its a very fun game and I wouldnt do this if it was boring haha. If there could be one update i think would be useful, it would a forging (?) alarm. something Like how in freezeria there is a blending alarm, a thing like that in the same vain would be epic. Thanks Flipline for putting this game on steam! :)

I played this game in school to avoid actually doing any work, the flash games ending hurt me quite a lot and now i can play this INSTEAD OF DRAWING WHICH IS LIKE WORK TO ME BUT I LIKE IT!

===== POSITIVE REVIEW ===== A fairly unique, simplistic single player experience. My kinda game nowadays! ===== THE GOOD ===== - It's a unique gaming experience since I never played the original (I did play Papa's Burgeria years ago, which has similar stack/line-stuff-up game mechanics). It's easy to learn and can be played in quick bursts, or for hours since it's definitely chill. - Amazing progression. I think this gets overlooked since it's undoubtedly a simple kind of game, but the progression is really well done. You unlock new weapons and variants of them, as well as cannonballs to assist your auto-battling team. Later on, you get elemental boosts and a variety of recipes to craft Epic weapons. - It's satisfying crafting stuff later in the game with lots of elemental bonuses, and high stats. The monsters increase in size and strength which also adds to how the game builds to the final battle. Also, the final fight was pretty cool. ===== THE MEH ===== - Maybe a bit too easy? It was actually a breeze to get through but I like easy games nowadays so that's fine with me. I think I had my team fully retreat only twice: one time cuz I realized there was a "craft bronze weapons for team" achievement (and I was well over halfway through the game) and another time because of the "spectator" achievement. - Linear. You travel on a single path and encounter waves of enemies along the way. Not too bad but other players might find that uninteresting. - Repetitive. I can probably craft a perfect Pegged Mace with my eyes closed. It's a liiiiiittle repetitive especially if you get the same troops in a row to craft for. Also, it's not hard even as a new player to get 100% scores on most weapons. Trident is my toughest one to work with, but most are a cinch to perfect. ===== FINAL THOUGHTS ===== Would love to see a sequel to this! Maybe with more warriors, weapon variety, and armor next time! And maybe Jack could join the fray himself, that might be pretty epic.

Yes. It is exactly how you remember it. Yes. It is still absolutely a great time. Yes. It reliable saves your progress. Yes. It hits the nostalgia just right. Yes. You should grab it if you liked its original flash version. (Even if you never played the original...it's only $6 for such a simple and fun blacksmithing simulator with that flash game charm!)

Every day after Lego Club, I'd have to wait for my mom to come pick me up. It was the same ritual every time; for the next five to ten minutes, I would have one of the library's computers all to myself. And what better game to play than Jacksmith? I remember the first time I ever jacked. I was inexperienced, and lacked the proper etiquette and care when hammering my blade. I never got to 100%. But as I progressed, I began noticing my skills greatly improving. And not just at jacking, but gaming too. I went from a 0.25 KD on Donkey Kong Country: Returns' second boss, the Scurvy Crew, to completing the entire game in mirror mode. Without Diddy. And it all traced back to Jacksmith. My hand-eye coordination, my critique for non optimally-stretched bowstrings, my entire mental state was heightened to a staggering degree. And then I discovered that Jacksmith was on Steam. Immediately, memories of my younger years flooded back into me. I booted up the game for the first time in years, and it was like seeing your best friend after a long isolation. 100% 100% 100% Every time. This game has done so much for me, both mentally and physically, and without it I would not be the man I am today: A first rate jacker, one who could hammer pegs just as well as I could hammer my own blade. No Diddy.
