This goes along with the base game like a big house on fire. The difficulty dial goes to 11 and seems to keep turning up. The DLC is great and I am really glad I bought it. If it were a big games company I would make a negative review because it's not in the base game, but I would gladly pay triple the price, cause the game is worth it :).

Adds more variety to the base game. Humans get some special abilities that really only come in handy on higher difficulties (where that is depends on the player) but when you do use them, they can get you out of a tight spot. The aliens get more mutations, which are what keep the game varied and interesting. It also adds the Ironman mode, which makes the game play like a more traditional RTS. I like it because it prevents the abuse of the recycle function, but it also makes bad decisions permanent, so only choose it if you like a challenge.
If you're getting the base game anyway, you might as well get this add-on for an extra $5. It adds some variety, especially to skirmish mode.

A good mini-expansion, if slightly over-priced. Adds enough content to freshen things up and increase the difficulty, but it doesn't over stay its welcome.

Its about time. This is one of the most enjoyable games I play, and its such a simple concept. Its well done and thought out. I enjoy talking to the developer during his open discussions as well as just in a friendly chat. I am installing now and will update this if it is not, as I expect, more great gameplay.

It's what it sounds like, a lot of fun things to add to the experience. Think they are a great addition and slide right into the experience smoothly. Highly reccomend!

By default you can spend "mana" only on a rocket that does some damage to structures, but the Trickster's Arsenal DLC adds seven more spells and buffs. I've only used the cluster bomb to clear out big blobs of trash enemies. Everything else is not overly useful to be bothered with them and learning hotkeys. And i'm not gonna sacrifice the universally useful grenades that automatically fly out of any dude, no matter the gun or the direction they are facing.
And get this, if you bought all the spells, disabled the DLC and then enabled it back, you will have to buy them all in-game again. Since i've finished the campaign and farmed the achievements i had excessive savings, but still, that's not cool.

This seems like a small DLC for the price tag. However! I specifically paid full price because I want to support the developer. Considering I generally dislike the idea of DLC and furthermore RTS is my least favorite genre, I absolutely love everything about Infested Planet. I was excited to hear a DLC was coming out, and I budgeted it for the soonest payday after release. Now excuse me, I have some fresh-bought DLC to break in!

A solid DLC that broadens the original play experience and extends the games replayability. Wouldn't go back to vanilla.

These are some fun additions that really help to spice up gameplay. It's not a huge thing, but it is quite a good excuse to sink plenty more hours into an already great game.
The new aliens do require some actual forethought when approaching, particularly things like hivecrawlers which can really make you rethink taking a hive.
The new abilities are great fun too and I've had a lot of new personal strategies emerge from that.
EDIT/Note: I do recommend that you experience the vanilla game first, so disable the DLC in Steam and play the game a bit first. The new alien types may be pretty overwhelming at first, as well as all the new abilities to juggle.

Good expansion for the game. Makes You more effective, but to counter that the aliens become more effective aswell. Adds bit more difficulty to the game, but nothing you can't handle. Overall a really good DLC. Still, I suggest waiting until sale because I know money is money.
