This DLC is more of the same as the original game but it seems slightly less buggy? The only major thing was getting stuck in a wall but a reload solved it. Also there is less platforming than the base game which is great as the platforming is the weakest part of the game. Instead it's been replaced by underwater puzzle sections, which are much less frustrating. While I couldn't recommend the base game, even though I really wanted to like it, I will recommend this DLC.

Adds a side story to the main game. It's a short tale in the same style as the tales from the main story, has some extra Cultural Insight videos and a few puzzles that took me a bit to figure out. Good addition to the base game, and very afforadable, I think it's worth getting if you liked the main game.

While the main game is lovely, the DLC feels clunky and has repeated issues (ie missing platforms that should register as grabbing) that distract from the otherwise wonderful storytelling.

Fun little addition with different styled puzzles, if you liked the main game it is definitely worth it

Most of this DLC is spent in or on the water, where your character either gets stuck in the walls or you have to constantly have to do a circle motion with your thumbstick to paddle until you break it (I suspect the mouse+keyboard mechanics are equally shitty). My thumbs are sore, despite the DLC being just an hour long. The story itself is much weaker than the original game. Do not buy unless it's on sale.

when being shown the story i was thinking well we did really mess up... But not go into an adventure to save them risking our lives. Its as aesthetic as the main game not gonna lie with the introduction of the boat mechanic. yet i feel this should be in the main story as a continuation or before the events of main story to show the comparison of hard times and have a small engagement/get along with the characters given the events that happen to fox without spoiling anything. less than 1h for achievements so completionists can add 1 more easy game on the perfect list

I don't remember the main game being this frustrating... This whole DLC is "underwater" and the controls are AWFUL. In order to beat most levels I've had to restart from the beginning due to the characters getting stuck on underwater walls. They just constantly swim onto them and get stuck. Not to mention the characters glitching through walls and getting stuck in and out of the boat... I'd pass on the DLC if you don't care about 100%ing the game...

For one hour of gameplay this should have been included with the base game for free. It's ridiculously short, Chapter 1 and 2 just blend together I thought it was just a single chapter since there wasn't really any story beats to separate the two. The controls are still quite poor so there hasn't been much improvement from the base game. Not worth the price of admission even if it is discounted.

Never Alone: Foxtales DLC adds about 1.5-2hrs gameplay and a ten minute documentary. As with the base game, gameplay is slow paced and the controls can be wonky. I still had fun though. The graphics and narration are nice and I like the documentary you unlock. If you like documentaries, or cultural stories, I'd recommend this.

A definite must buy for those who loved the core game. While short (It took me 80 minutes with many restarts to finish the game + plus a sneaky exploit on the final puzzle) It is still worth the time to play. New puzzle types are definitely not a breeze to figure out straight away, And theres a good challenge to beating them. As usual the art style is beautiful, There were a couple of sections i just had to stop and screenshot to enjoy for later viewing. In short, If you loved the core game it is highly recommended to pick this up aswell.
