Dungeon Crawlers HD Reviews

Dungeon Crawlers is a game designed to explore the fun and funny concept of what "Ghostbusters" might've looked like if it were set in a dungeon. It's a turn-based strategy game that is easily accessible. Don't expect to dive too deep into statistics and weapons types here. The interface is highly streamlined.

Dungeon Crawlers HD had a rough start with the release around the same time as other big name or established games in this genere which took advantage of the retro fad. The competition was fierce and mistakes were made which have since been corrected. If you play it for what it is and can enjoy the more modern appraoch to their look vs over-used pix or vox retro gfx, you have an amazing platform for possible community driven content and modules. The game is pure entertainment with a relaxing humor almost anyone can enjoy.

I am having some sort of fun with this game since I really like turn-based rpg games, but there are some issues that I really dislike. Pros: +Good humor +Good levels that require so many tactics +Cheap price Cons: However, combat and xp distribution requires a lot of work because there are some cases where you would feel like you are too underleveled for certain stages and RNG can screw you so much that it isn't funny. With RNG screwing you, you are going to find yourself repeating stages until you have found the best conditions to play. Not only that, acquiring gold is a hassle because you can barely supply yourself with appropriate while having to deal with RNG making you miss shots or taking status effects turn-by-turn. There are some bugs, but it isn't game-breaking at the moment. Conclusion: I wouldn't recommend this game right now until the developer changes some of these things because it is DEFINITELY not for a casual audience.

Loved it up till chatper 4 then all the short commings really start showing. I did have fun and the price is right. I would still love to see Dungeon Crawlers 2. Make it a little deeper, more loot and less bugs.

Well! For as low-priced a game as this is, it's VERY good looking (HD indeed!) and is pretty challenging with its turn-based combat. GREAT graphics, sound, battles. Pretty fun, and I'm eager to see more from these devs.

Light-hearted turn-based fun at a bargain-basement price. Some reviewers have complained about the in-your-face Ghostbusters references and similar style of humor. Those reviewers are likely too young to have seen Ghostbusters in a movie theater, so they probably don't know what they're talking about ;). This game doesn't take itself seriously (at all), provides a good deal of slapstick-style humor, and is, so far, entertaining beyond the 3-odd Euros i paid for it. The developer has been very responsive in the forums, quickly solving problems and answering questions. Can i recommend it? Yes, but only to those not looking for "serious" game play. Hard-core, serious gamers should look elsewhere.

Such an Awsome Game. If you like Turn based games this is for you. Give it a chance and you will fall in love it. You can Get it for Mac and PC. The SD Version has been out for Ipads and Android for some while which is Still GREAT. I have personally bought it for each device i own. Just note there is a HD version and a SD version. Go to the games web site to decide which is best for your system as they have demo version which you can try it out. The HD version may not run as slick on some older devices. But the SD version runs great.

Great game! As an old timer, I was wondering when anyone would make a decent "Heroquest" game. I certainly hope it expands with more Hero characters. I personally don't care for the Ghostbusters references or the attempts at humor, which I try to just skip over. The dungeon graphics are excellent and will be a nice discovery for those who have long since given up on seeing this type of game reproduced on the computer. It is a shame this engine wasn't used to make the "Warhammer Quest" game, which pales in comparison.

The game itself is similar to how a board game would play. I enjoyed playing up until the first puzzle, the Banshee Queen. Which to me is a trial and error puzzle. There are no clues as what to do and in which order to do it. So you have to play the section multiple times. You can't study the room and work out what to do, which to me was a major frustration. I don't want to sit here for ages, playing it over and over just to see if I can get it right this time. But maybe I'm missing something? It is a pity about the trial and error puzzle aspect, I was enjoying the game up until that point. But it has squashed any desire to play the game more. Maybe I will come back to it in the future. There are many other games that don't have the frustration element but are just as fun. I felt the game could have done with dice rolls on screen. It playes like a board game & I feel visible dice rolls would add to the enjoyment. Can I recommend it? Yes, if you can get past the frustration of random guess what to do puzzles. At this point I can't.

Nice game and graphics. Fun too. Except it is horribly bugged and can't finish a level to continue. I am a hardcore gamer and I can forgive a bug or two, three, but if it doesn't let me fininish a game....! Buy a Bad game with no Bugs instead of a good game you can't play.

2 Hours in and i LIKE it. Fan of other games like Dwarf Quest and Heroes Quest the board game well it came to life in this game. Do not be affend by the Ghostbuster Music its just on the store page and like us the Game Dev is a Fan of Ghostbusters, and Heroes Quest so let it go its all great. Start with 3 Characters Melee - Mage - Healer + a DWARF( have not got him yet) It is Turned Based, you move and attack or just attack (no attacking then moving though) You kill stuff you get Gold, you can find items in Chests, find Hidden walls so far 2/2 on those there are Levers on the walls, also you can try and search the Bookshelfs, desks etc. At the beginning of each level, you are offered to go to the Store (HQ flashback) and buy items, like Weapons, Armor, Potioins. i myself have only bought 1 Potion to cure Posion, so far i am on 1/3 the last floor i think of this Dungeon i was hired to clear. can not wait to get back into it when i have time. For the price you can not go wrong.
