Ok, to start: I'm gay and only bought this for Dorothy. Just so you all know where I'm coming from, here; it's always gonna be hard for me to enjoy an otome game, so maybe I'm being unfair. Looking at the other reviews here, though, I don't think that's the case this time. Personally I don't like stat management sim stuff in visual novels, but I don't necessarily dislike it either. When the ratio of story & character interaction to stat management is as skewed as it is here, though, even someone who likes that stuff would probably have to say it's going too far. This game bills itself on getting to flirt/date with cute characters and solving a mystery, but the scenes are so short, you spend barely any time doing either. What's the point? A few positives: [*]Dorothy! Too many otome games that include routes for female characters are just friendship or are super ambigious; it's nice to see an unapologetic romance route for once. [*]Art is... well, it's really just "okay", but if you compare it to the standard for VNs, it's quite good. [*]The characters are actually adults! It's not set in a high school! Thank the lord! I might play the other routes someday to keep it from dragging down my achievement completion ratio (lol), so I'll update this review if that changes my opinion at all, but I doubt it will.

Love & Order comes down to maybe a 50/50 split of schedule management and story. While not the worst offender in its category, having to go through tons of mindless tasks just to make it to a snippet of dialogue is not a fun presentation. It might be worth it if the plot was solid, but unfortunately the writing is quite poor.

For me this game was very disappointing, I didn't feel like there was really any story at all 98% of the time you are just running around doing errands for people and I didn't feel there was any depth to the characters at all. To me the main purpose of the game was to keep your stress level down and make a single character like you by doing errands for them. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Very disappointing.

This is more of a micro-managing simulator than it is a visual novel. Mind numbing entertainment and a good time killer. If you are able to put out of your mind that there isn't much story or romance involved, you could probably play this and find enjoyment from it. Expensive cards if you want to sell them, easy achievements.. the objectives in order to complete the game are also easy, once you figure it out. I really didn't dislike this game as much as most people did. I do not, however, feel it's worth 11 dollars. Get this on sale for less than 5, if possible. You'll get a lot of play time into it because of the play style, but it is very repetitive. A side note is that the developer, Winter Wolves, have many other titles on Steam that are much better. As much as I liked this, I would have to say it's one of their weaker titles. If you want something in this realm of gameplay - but a little more polished, look into some of their other titles.

O....M....G.... I spent 2 hours grinding it out balancing 4 coworkers forcing their own work onto me, one of them was forcing me to do work that wasn't even office related, it's his school work. So after over 2 hours of repeating tedious dialog that basically never changes repeating cases and praying again and again for the next date to get an ending finally... I get fired, I get fired for "not doing my job" when all of my coworkers meters are maxed, I never failed a single assignment, I had a seemingly endless array of completed assignments, and my stress was basically never in the 20's at any given moment, I went to all the mindless meetings where my character contimplated suicide to escape on multiple occasions (no seriously even she wanted out that badly) and my work seriously got flushed down the toilet. I don't even know if this game is worth achievement hunting at this point. Came for the story, stayed for the achievements, got nothing out of it besides waisted time. DO NOT BUY this game under any cercumstances, it's not worth anything really. It's so bad noone has even bothered to make any guides at all for it and I've seen guides in plenty of pointless games helpful or otherwise. Just run as far away as possible from this. Edit: I didn't want owning this game to be for nothing so I figured out and got all the achievements, will make a guide later to make it easier for others to complete the achievements aswell. However I'm sick of it for now so untill then.

Gameplay is too much like actual work without enough incentive to keep going. Carefully managing your time in the game earns you $10 a week - which runs out very quickly if you need to pay for transport or food. 2 hours of play got me a few quick dates before money started running dangerously low. Great theme and quest text but a missed opportunity as far as visual novels go. I highly recommend Dandelion instead.

This is my first public review, and it was nice time to spend a few hours playing this game. I wish I could come up with more pros for this game, but I seem to end up with more cons instead. Anyhow, this what I think about the game after two playthroughs: --- Pros --- - Nice Art - Aid your employers by helping them out on cases as their secretary within the law firm (People who played Ace Attorney or are new to the Law/Political genre can enjoy this perspective-wise) - Playing a character who engages in a investigative role outside her job description is a good characteristic. - Romantic relationship is not restricted to male characters. You can pursue a yuri/lesbian relationship too. ---Cons--- - Fonts are very cheap fonts and dialogue textbox design is too simple. The colour combination between the text and the box also makes it hard to read over some mid-heavy text on a few occassions. - The Mystery element of the story should be a little more interesting with the tension, and the outcome is pretty straightforward. - Not many purchasable outfits to buy. Without overworking, you won't earn a lot for them either (Basically earned $10 every time, with no added bonus for my efficient hard work). - Stress-management is too simple. All you need to do is eat in the lunch break room or spend $5 for a meal to keep your stress within 0-20% roughly. - There seems to be no drawbacks from falling behind on the cases besides displeasing superiors even though I'm helping someone else. I'm surprised no one filed a complaint to the boss for not helping them enough. - Need more characters to converse with within the story and free time. Dana doesn't seem to have any friends or social life outside of work. - This game needs scheduled events while working in the office besides being dragged into a board meeting. - Not much different or more impressive endings apart from whom you are in a relationship with. - IMO one female co-worker as a potential romantic partner feels like an isolated mix into a game aesthetically targeted for female players . This game could at least have even number of male and female partners if it is including a yuri relationship, or just male partners only. To quote Godot from Ace Attorney: "A single drop of milk is all it takes to destroy the pure black magic in the cup!" Overall, I give this game 6/10. It is likable, just that it could do much better with story and gameplay elements.

I wanted so much to like this game. But wow, this one is a bad VN. And I mean BAD. I’ve already said on reviews from other Winter Wolves games that all this status raising is in fact annoying because you barely have enough time to interact with the characters you’re pursuing. And Love and Order takes it too far, it’s literally all about status raising, doing boring works. And when you finally get a date with a character, it’s super short, plain, and simply bad written. I swear I don’t want to sound mean. But this VN is clearly a rushed work, and it’s expensive. I don’t think that’s fair to people that pay the full price on a short, barely enjoyable game. Luckily I got my copy on a sale, but even so it feels that I’ve paid more than this VN is even worth of. I’ll continue to play the Winter Wolves VNs, not all their works are bad (some are in fact decent/good) and I still want to play their titles. I think that all VNs are an unique experience to their players, so I still believe that good works can come from these developers. The art style was cute, BG was okay… But the BGM was just bad. It’s a single track that plays over and over again, suddenly stopping at times. The story is so rushed, you cannot feel sympathy for any character. I highly recommend a “remake” of this VN, not to change everything, but to at least add more stuff so we can get attached to the story and its characters. 2/10. I don’t recommend this game even on sale or for free...

I'm really glad that visual novels have for the most part moved past stat raising. I struggle to think there was ever a time when people actually enjoyed spending hours upon hours repetitively juggling stats in a game that was far too easy to fail at with too few rewards for success. Love & Order is the most egregious offender that I've come across yet. Not only is the stat juggling an absolute chore, but there's barely even a story here to justify calling it a visual novel in the first place. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1703301691 The idea of working in a law firm, being privy to interesting law suits, and dealing with all of the drama that they entail, is something that intrigues me. And yet, 90% of the game's play time is spent running gofer for the entire office. Dana spends week after week making photocopies, getting signatures, mailing documents, writing memos, organizing the office, ordering supplies... it's just boring. More boring than actually working at a law firm itself. I know, cause I've worked for several lawyers over the years, and transcribing dictation is a hell of a lot more fun than playing this. Love & Order's premise is ripe for some really fun storytelling, but in the end, it all boils down to keeping the lawyer you're trying to romance happy by getting all of their assignments done on time while not stressing out so much that you end up failing at basic tasks. And I do mean basic. I'm really not sure how anyone can fail at photocopying, but Dana certainly has a lot of trouble with the Xerox machine. Once you manage to gain enough affection with one of the love interests, you can ask them out on a date. From there, they'll periodically invite you out, but there's barely anything to it. You go to a pub for some drinks. Maybe get some dinner. There's a bit of small talk, and then you're right back to the daily grind the next morning. There's no romantic development between the characters at all. You don't even learn anything about the person you're romancing. You just go on these short little dates, and after a while your beau (or belle) starts calling you "love" or "sweetheart" at the office, and you're basically a couple. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1703301751 The only time we actually get a hint of something more is in the mystery case you can investigate on the down low. Clearly, this matter was covered up, and Dana is intent on getting to the bottom of it! But trying to juggle her regular office duties while digging into the case is more frustrating than it's worth, especially when your boss finds out and demands that you stop sticking your nose where it doesn't belong. And if he catches wind that you disobeyed his order, it's game over. I was actually a bit relieved when he barged into the office and told me to pack up my things. It saved me from wasting several more hours on this borefest. I'd like to say "at least it's free to play," but really, your time is worth more than this. Much like real life clerical duties, Love & Order is just a bunch of busywork with very little reward. And if you're hoping to fly through for easy achievements, good luck with that. I can't even imagine having to play through this three more times just to 100% it. I've already wasted 3 hours of my life on the game, and I ain't wasting no more. Screw that! Summary of the story: In Love And Order, you play as Dana Larose whoses starting her career as a secretary at the Crown Attorney's office. In the game you basically just run errands and whatnot for the lawyers (and potential love interests) there. The better job you do, the more money you get in your paycheck, and if you neglect your tasks for too long you could get fired. Pretty straight forward. I really liked the game. Compared to other games made by Winter Wolves however, it's definitely not one of their best. The story is really interesting, the artwork is great, the gameplay is decent, the little extras you get after you finish a route are pretty cool. But they definitely could have done better. It took such little effort to complete it, and you could literally go on one date with them then the ending would be you getting married?? It just wasn't put together very well... The game took me about 3-4 hours to complete, and that was REALLY milking it. Most of the games I get from them take me around 20+ hours to complete it. It kills me that it could've been a really amazing game, if they but just a little more effort into it... Overall, I'd give it a 6/10 maybe... It's a fun play, and a GREAT story, but it's just not as good as it could have been. Hope this helps! ~Lailachu
