The Duke is not straight.
If you want to punish him for that wait for the sale, 5€ is too much money for 2 AIs (which are really well made I have to say), but other than that, I can thumb up this DLC.
By the way, I don't consider Skirmish Trail as a valuable feature because I am able to set up same thing all by myself in matter of seconds.

good dlc glad to see the rat is finally in the game, for those who do not understand the duke is technically the real successor to duc de puce because his castle style is a copy and paste of his from the original crusader while the rat is a new character with a new castle build but same troop usage as the rat so i guess really if you combine them you get duc de puce !!!!!! miss the voice actor tho and oh yes the templar is king richard the lionheart, i dont understand why they gave the old castle templates of the original characters to the dlc characters and also dont understand why we have to pay for dlc when they used to give it to us for free on stronghold :( but none the less i like the new personalities and seeing the old build styles of the rat and richard come back into the game

It's okay, I would recommend buying if all you want is a few extra missions because that is what it gives you of course along with two extra charchters. HOWEVER the video and all advertising make it out to be an actual sotry line and maybe some actual quests, when playing however all i found was a bunch of already played maps and then plonked down and there you have it, no structure and no story line. One moment you fight the Templar, then the duke and then they are both against you? I thought they were against each other? That is what the video leads you to believe.
Maybe next time have a DLC that we are paying for and have 6 missions, two on the dukes team and two on the templars, just shows a little more structure and makes it more enjoyable rather than 30+ hours of playing what feels like a repeat.
Not sure if I will be buying the other DLC's, that is unless I get very bored! But for me its a negative because it lacked substance and was missleading, that and the Duke is one ugly MOFO!

The Templar is a very tough AI to beat with. Now sadly as with other AI he cheats, more so than any in fact, most of time he never has the economy and its clear he is piggy back riding just to mow you down. Ignoring this his castle is simply fantastic, its filled to the brim with buildings with plenty of towers, it looks badass, especelly playing on Close Encounters seeing his largest castle. His armies are dangerous, consisting of strictly Swordsmen and Crossbowmen, which even ammasing archers on 1 tower they can still prove quite annoying, and his lines contain references to various AI in the first game. One of the best characters in this game really.
The Duke is a frenchman, so if you know Philip from Crusader 1 then do not expect much. Althought actually, The Duke is an interesting character and is not all that weak, even if his dialogue is just as pathetic as Philip's. His castle is interesting with stairs being the only way to access his keep, however due to lack of the Siege tower in this game, you cannot invade his castle in the way it clearly wants to be invaded. He uses a large ammount of Rangers for defence which they beg even more for a siege tower. They are a strong melee unit above all and the fact most of time you are just gonna crush his walls instead makes it so you don't fight in the most interesting way. Really the coolest way to go about is to take down the gatehouse with a battering ram then move your units, or perhaps an assault with assassins.
His attacks and raids also consist of rangers, as said they are good in melee so contrary to other ranged units, melee is not the best option to counter them and you must attack back with ranged units. Now this is a slight lie as they are not as strong as they were in Stronghold 3, but they will still fend of Macemen and will do good damage to Arab Swordsmen or Pikemen. He also uses armored units so you must be careful of them as well. Not as strong as Templar but he really is more unique compared to the rest.

So far, I'm having lots of fun with the Templar and the Duke DLC. This is probably my favorite DLC out of the three DLC out currently. It adds 10 new achievements, new skirmish trail, 2 new AI. Both AI are on the Crusader side and so far I had a lot of fun playing against both The Templar and The Duke. I recommend this DLC to anyone who has Stronghold Crusader 2. This DLC adds a lot of replayability to the base game. 10/10
