Siege Wars Reviews

Long time ago, when mages ruled the land, common people raised the rebellion against their magic, arrogance and tyranny. They used catapults, ballistas and bombs in the battle against magic castles and powerful spells. Now their destiny is in your hands!

Wasn't worth the work it took to get it to work. Don't buy this, it isn't functional unless you jump through a bunch of hoops, and even if you do, it's just not a very good game.

This is a cute little angry birds clone. Simple goal of destroying different colored wizards with a variety of war engines that you can upgrade as you progress. There are a fair number of levels, and when you first start you will be knock off the first dozen in just a few minutes. Still, despite the simplicity there is a fair amount of polish. The artwork is simple but pleasing. The sound adds to the overall cute atmosphere. The game was a joy to play, if a little short. If you like this type of game, this is a worthwhile title to try. 8/10

First impression: catapult physics game. I played a few of free flash games of this genre. This one, while decent, is nothing to write home about. The game runs well on my old Windows XP computer.
Siege Wars
Angry Birds Catapult Version. - I've played many of these catapult games on Kongregate. - You have 1-3 catapults and different ammo with which you need to kill different mages with by hitting them directly or destroying the castle around them; strategicaly let it fall on them.
Thumbs Up
Challenging to figure out the shot, weakpoint of the castle and which mage to kill first. Cheap price - But not cheap enough. Initially fun, but go to my Thumbs Down List
Thumbs Down
Buggy - This game was one of the buggiest games I've bought on steam. - The catapult fires, but the shot is not registrered, or hangs in the air. Costing a round. - A direct hit on the mages might not kill them. - Achievements might not unlock. Windowed mode - Problems with scrolling to the levels - the resolution doesn't fit. Switching from full screen to window mode to start a level, because you want to watch por...Popular series meanwhile. Leveling system is bad You upgrade your different catapults as you earn coins from completing levels - However, some upgrades are required to get to some levels, but you can't reset upgrades. Meaning: If you upgrade wrong, you have to start the game all over. - I did this 5 times. The mages attack your catapults at random, meaning some levels are pure luck based. Contradicts the whole strategy concept, you have to retry if you loose the wrong catapult first for instance. The Score system is wierd - You can kill every mage with 1 shot, but you might not get enough points for 3 stars because you didn't damage enough of the castle. Especially applies to levels with 1 try. This is fucked up if you go for the achievement completion. - I really couldn't figure out how to get most points. - Even after getting all stars for 50 levels.
Closing Comments
You can kill some time with this game, and it is fun for an hour. - Then the frustration sets in like a bad hangover, or when you realize you got pregnant by mistake. You regret. If you go for 100% completion, it's not worth it because of all the bugs and restarting. Perhaps played this divided over 1 year, and it only got more bugged. - The developer abandoned the game; like I should do with my addiction to Cola - Just admit it's fucked up and stay away - Ps. I don't know if it's better on Android.

As of August 1st, I experience a game breaking bug that does not allow you to shoot your stone from the catapult which prevents you from enjoying anything the game may have to offer. The catapult arm will move but the stone in it hangs in mid-air and does nothing. You may want to wait and see if the developer can fix this before purchasing.

This game was same price tagged as using a public restroom in a dirty gas station located in europe, and pissing in there is a better satisfaction than this experience
TL;DR This is what happens when a person who has no idea about devoloping a game. So it results like million other HTML5, JAVA games copy of each other. There is not even a single bit of creativity or uniqueness. You regret buying it because millions of free copies will fly around the gleam
What is this game Ordinary destroy the blocky castle with projectiles. what did It add new to table Enemies dont just wait to get killed, they uses spells to destroy random one of your catapults. Which may end up making level imposibble to defeat if you got unlucky. It added grinding to this genre ( which is actually not new) But they let you assign the levels, wrong stategy is likely ends with grand restart of whole game. No undo button just restart. also it taked the fun out of game by making one of the worst physics engine... multiple tries of same shot can act different. And secondy he didn't even ported the controls right especially when the controls act so sharp for dragging with mouse. Im not even done yet. This game mostly progressed by luck because of random results. You better have high dpi mouse beacause you have to make chances as sharp as 1000 times more sharp than your monitor height. (calculates about 1/1.08 of a pixel in 1080p and Im not even lying)
finally; I would have regretted if even I got this game for free.

This is a bad version of a popular game. Most would even call this an Angry Birds rip off. There are some aspects that are somewhat "original" like the enemies fighting back in a turn or 2 to destroy your weapons. I just don't find this game fun. Do not buy it.

At first, this game seemed fun, but that quickly dissipated. I did manage to struggle through to the end, but only because I hate leaving a game incomplete. Many of the levels are simply unfair. They're designed to be impossible and/or to rely on luck alone. That includes Citadel level 15, on which I spent over half an hour before the Deities of Unbroken Input Devices saw fit to spare me further agony and granted the required miracle. The biggest problem you will face in this game is consistent inconsistency. You can pull the catapult back to the same exact position 10 times and achieve a different result every time. The second biggest problem is that most, if not all, of this game relies on luck, not skill (though the inconsistency plays a big part in that). A game like this is supposed to be about skill -- you plan your attack and then follow through -- but skill plays little to no part in this game. I got this on sale at 75% off, and I still don't feel I got my money's worth, simply because the game wasn't fun. I appreciate the work that went into it, and I am not saying the developers don't deserve to get paid, but a game that isn't fun isn't worth anything to me.

It is like angry birds, except the pigs (mages) fire back after a couple turns. Not as well polished as angry birds, aiming with the catapults takes a bit more effort, but still, kinda fun for what it is.

Better than Angry Birds! Does Angry Birds have siege engines that you can upgrade? No. Does Angry Birds have mages that cast spells to destroy one or more of your siege engines? No. Yes this game has the same basic ideas as Angry Birds: launch a projectile to hit all the enemies in a set number of turns. But Angry Birds was not the first game to do that, so why do people disregard games like this just because they are similar? Who cares which was first, all that matters is if a game is good or not. Sure there are lots of crappy games that are made to try to get easy money, but dont' assume that this is one of them. For one thing, this game has no animals. No birds, no pigs. The player has siege engines such as catapults and arrow launchers. The enemies are mages of different types. If you don't kill them in a turn or two the mages cast a spell and destroy one or more of your siege engines. And the mages don't laugh and mock you for losing like the pigs in Angry Birds. There are 4 different types of siege engines you get throughout the game. You can't choose which to use, they are set in each level. But you can choose which ones you want to upgrade. You get upgrade points (I can't remember what they are called in the game) from time to time (I think for beating a level fast or maybe not losing a siege engine or something) and there are occasional orbs in the level that you can get, though they are usually in hard to reach places. There are also spells you can use. I've gotten one at the beginning of each world. Once you use it, it's gone. But it does help when you're in a tough spot. Graphics are nice, cartoony, cute. Sound is ok. The price is great. Pretty cheap for the amount of content you get. Plus there are Achievements and Trading Cards!
