It has great techno music and I was enjoying it. Eventually it becomes very difficult and you might start to become annoyed with the game. I did watch rage quit with michael which is why I bought the game. If you want to try difficult arcade style games then you might try it out. Its not bad but eventually becomes too hard to win.

THIS GAME IS THE SORT OF GAME THAT MAKES DARK SOULS LOOK EASY.
This game litery is the definition of sh!ting on some ones grave.
This game looks so nice and easy but it is so hard that by the end of your life you would of had to by 5 new computer monters 10 new mouses and 100 more keyboards just by playing this game and raging so much about how hard it is and the funny thing is you probely would not even of compleated the game by the time that you die in real life.

Trailer is a pretty accurate representation of how the game is. Fun and frustrating as all hell. Definitely worth the recommendation for those who enjoy a ‼fun‼ experience.

I was looking for something similar to the Kururin games and this is pretty close. Visuals and soundtrack are a little bland but the gameplay holds up and is addicting.

Really frustrating and unsatisfying. Obstacles often require pixel-perfect precision. Things that shoot at you are deterministic, but still unpredictable because of their delay
If you fail and respawn at the beginning of a level, the timer/deaths don't reset, instead you have to go to the menu, select the restart option, then wait through the scripted movement animation until you get back to the starting position.
This is not the only instance when the game makes you wait for no reason.
Soundtrack follows the best practices of Flash games from the previous decade.

This is a beautifully balanced and something-for-everyone type of game. For the average-to-good gamer, it's not as hard as other ultra hard platformer/puzzle type games, like Super Meat Boy, because it has a number of player-defined checkpoints in every level, a system which works really well (although the constantly rotating neon hyphen always respawns in the least convenient orientation possible). For the more hardcore type, there are bonuses which are only available by finishing every level using no checkpoints and with no deaths, which brings it up to the masochist level of challenge.
Some levels require a second try because you didn't know the map layout, but overall, the controls are very precise (with a controller - don't even attempt this game with a keyboard), the game is never unfair, and you can reasonably expect to progress smoothly- the last 1/3 of the game takes longer than the first 2/3, but that's to be expected as the last few levels are long and have some pretty hard bits. I thought the music was not that great, but the visuals are quite nice, and you can turn sound off and play your own tunes if you want.
Overall, if you enjoy platformers and puzzle games but are sometimes put off by evil level design, you will likely find Hyphen very satisfying. And protip- you can skip the upside-down Y puzzle near the end of the game completely ;)

Music is Dope AF. Neon eyecandy but also frustrating at times,
because you WILL DIE a lot. but very addictive and fun little gem.

ARRGGHHHH!
Just downloaded this but I will be playing a lot more. Really has the right combination of just one more go and tossing my keyboard out the window.
Didn't know people still made games like this, kudos and thanks!
PS. To people hating on the lack of a restart button, there is a restart button in full view along with the other keyboard controls. Reading is good.

Getting from one point to another while dodging frustrating obstacles is the premise of the game. It tests your patience in ways you've never known. If you aren't careful, you may end up cursing the world around you due to the frustration that had built up in trying to beat this demonic game. I can see the appeal but ultimately, it isn't for me.

Would I recommend this to others huh Steam? Hell yeah I would!
The individual elements to this game are packaged together perfectly. The smooth neon look, the epic soundtrack, the various obstacles and their difficulty...it's got me hooked.
I'm not the best at games like this but no matter how enraged I get, I keep coming back for more. I love the simplicity of the menu's and usability. The checkpoint system in the game is ace...whilst you see how many you have to use, you're not sure how many more obstacles are between you and the finish line so half the time it's a psychological battle deciding when to use them. Farspace Studios have balanced those well and not just given you too many to splash about as you please.
You can play with either a controller (I tried a microsoft 360 controller) or keyboard. I preferred using a keyboard but it's nice there's an option :)
Hands down the best puzzle game I've played, suitable for anyone (maybe not for people with weak hearts or mega high blood pressure) ;)
I've played for about 10 hours + overall (direct purchased version) but it had me won over after 15 mins.
