space mission feels really bad, navigation geometry and ai pathing is terrible.

A short but sweet campaign, with little filler and lots of killer. It's definitely tougher, mechs take longer to repair so you're forced to have backups ready to go and really need to adjust to the tactics the enemies will employ in the second half of the campaign (Boy howdy you'd best love getting ambushed by high up enemies in valleys because PGI LOVE to have you get ambushed in valleys). Once you get over that there's some great missions that let you play to your strengths And to top it all off you get to use all the fun mechs in the main campaign too, win win. I'd say it's good at the base price, but if you see this on sale alongside the base game it's worth getting it as part of the bundle.

God ♥♥♥♥ the mission "A Grizzly Trial" genuinely did the developers even test it? You can fall off the ship, land on an invisible floor and that mech is pretty much useless for the rest of the level, or get stuck on a bunch of tiny objects and walls that bring you to a dead halt (You can even clip into walls and get stuck on the topside of the ship too) and you have to kill all of a union drop ship's turrets all while dealing with constant airstrikes an artillery. Genuinely feels like the devs wanted to make a cool space battle set piece but couldn't be bothered to actual test the level they made with how many bugs I ran into. I'm writing this a YEAR after the DLC came out too, like how is ♥♥♥♥ like this acceptable??? I honest to god think it's the worst level in any game I've played so far. Rest of the DLC is OK, slightly better then the main game so, probably like a 6.5/10. the mechs in the DLC are decent enough, so it has that going for it. I just can't recommend the DLC because of the poor QC that let a mission be that bad to play, and stay unpatched a YEAR after release.

Fun assortment of Battlemechs to add to the other campaign and general gameplay - immediately not good as a campaign. Just a few levels in on the space battle, and I'm tired of falling through the ship and falling to my doom in space. I was also very annoyed when I couldn't turn my mech enough to scan the damage on the ship's wing - it was not clear that you could go down there and still be within the OZ, because it's so close to the edge. So I spent long enough trying to find an angle that would keep me in the OZ without falling off down there that my entire star was obliterated, and then I jumped. It also doesn't keep your progress from the main campaign - which makes sense enough from a story perspective - but is not a great game mechanic. I'm literally not going to grind thousands of exp on every single type of mech again just to have them not be terrible. Honestly very disappointing, because I like the base game a lot, and it feels like just straight up poor or lazy game design to me.

A fantastic addition to Clans, improving much upon the writing and mission design. While shorter than the main campaign, it is significantly more enjoyable and the cast is quite good this time.
