Gelluloid Domination Reviews
Gelluloid Domination is a high paced, strategic and tactical game where you grow a network of cells. Expand by assimilating nearby cells, fight off pathogens and develop nanoboosts in the lab. Other cells want to propagate their DNA to, so this won't be easy. Can your cells reach domination?

Honestly? Too many levels where there's only one solution, and finally hit a wall at 03-06, even on the lowest settings primarily due to the gimmick. The gimmick appears to be using the virii to weaken other sectors, then invade, as the means to invade isn't able to overcome the inherent regeneration of the defenses alone, even if that's all you spend gel/time on.
The virii are a joke (both to you and the AI) so this leaves you stuck, unable to invade quickly enough to progress. The ability that supposedly attracts them doesn't appear to make much (if any) difference. They also completely stop spawning after a certain point, generally without having hampered ... anyone.
Even the other abilities appear broken. As in, as far as I can tell, they do nothing. I'm not even sure the "upgrades" work, as they don't appear to modify the stats from base at all when chosen. Also resets what you have available with each session, though apparently still remembers that you upgraded them. Additional ability slots say the tech tree unlocks them without there being anything there that does so. If it's locked behind progress, I never got far enough to see it, despite completing the first two sets.
The UI, such as it is, doesn't work half the time when it requires precise movements and targeting. For instance, if you're trying to load for an invasion, and it's too close to a normal cell, it'll prioritize targeting that normal cell unless you're exactly on top of what you're trying to load. If you try to move the camera with anything but the mouse, it locks the mouse until you click again as well. There is a lot here that feels janky anywhere except directing gel between linked cells.
Overall, the rest of the levels so far were either a blitz or a complete slog, where some of them you have to find the ideal strategy or you just lose.
The "base" outside the simulation doesn't appear to do anything at all, despite what the trailer shows.
It was interesting for a bit, and the visuals and concept are cool, but I regret buying it and wouldn't recommend it as is, especially as a fully released title.

This really took me back to the phage wars era, it's a bit of that with a TON of upgrades and strats you can plan for. If you into minimalist RTS, node-conquest, or infection-spread puzzles, this hits the spot.
A bit annoying you have to use tech funds from research to also use that stuff (you might find yourself overinvesting in tech you woops can't use after purchase) and that you don't always see the enemy's strength (unless you buy an upgrade later and only lasts 30s) but maybe it's just my need to have full info on all the stuff going on :)
