The Warriorlock is a very funny game with great puns and unexpected lines that would make a lot of people laugh. With a few minor changes that I am sure you would be able to solve, this would make a very good and interesting Indie game. It is based on comical situations, lines, cut-scenes and puns, which it is extremely good at. Everything, from the face a character makes when it dies or the main character's name, to the choices of words when stuff like levelling up happens is funny in this game. In the beginning, the first cave and tunnel are very dark and you need to use a book that you get before to make it light, but the game doesn't tell you how to open the inventory, nor how to use the book or any item, so that makes it a little frustrating, so please maybe add some instructions about this. Also, the player's objectives are maybe too little described. Please add a mission list available at any time. English is not my main language so I hope to see this game translated into more languages in the future. Tho, I know the developer can and will solve all of these, that's why I completely recommend this game anyone. This game is incredible thinking all of this was made only by just one man. Anyone should try this game, it is guaranteed to make you laugh.

This game is an old-school RPG game, with a big and well-made story behind it. Here are the pros I found and my recommendations to turn the game better: Pros: - Low System Requirements, which nowadays almost any computer has those; - Cool soundtrack; - Well-made story and dialogues; - Nice graphics and images; - Can walk in the diagonal, which is rarely found in RPG´s; - Drops steam cards, which for a card collector like me is pretty cool. Recommendations: - Hidden Monsters could attack when in contact with any party member instead of just the player; - Add some brightness in the cave. Also, for those who want full screen and haven´t read the game controls , try pressing f5 or f6. This game was actually developed by only one person, and the fact that it can promote so much hours of gameplay makes me think how much time does the developer deposited to create a game like that. Developers like this one are not very easy to found. I would totally recommend this game if you make part of the ones who enjoy some old-school RPG games.

Initially when I started to play this game, I’d imagined it would be another classic RPG with only a new story, but at the beginning of the game it already indicates that it will be a different experience and so it was till the point from the game before doing this review. The game is funny, with a story based on humor, bringing laugh and fun while accompanying the misadventures of Harry. A highlight of the game is the way the scenarios are built and how the characters interact with it - in my opinion a great hit. The soundtrack is also great, without excess of music or unnecessary audios in some scenes, which I found very good since it made the experience of the game more immersive. The story, although I’m not in the end yet, has intrigued me and made me want to continue playing, which has made me excited, since the game promotes an unprecedented story. One point that I believe may diverge opinions is the difficulty of the game, because while I was surprised by a level of difficulty that I have not found in games of the type. I felt challenged and this motivated me to play more, since all combats pass the feeling of being able to be fatal for the team and this I thought was a great hit of the developers, because we have seen games easy and little challenging being released nowadays. Overall THE WARRIORLOCK is an old school RPG that has a good story, with levels that make the player stop to think before going into unnecessary fighting and that can be a surprise at certain times depending on the actions taken by the player. Finally it is worth emphasizing some things that could improve the game: exploring some places could be something faster. In some occasions there are too many encounters and in others there are no enemies; the use of items like the tent could be less restrained, since in some moments a part of the team is dead, but it is not possible to revive them due to restrictions of use of the item. The translation of the game into other languages could be a great point to increase the popularity of this game because it has a great potential. On a scale of 0 - 5, I give 4.2 for the game.

What the heck! This game is actually VERY good! It might be built in RPGMaker, but it could compete with classics like Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale... I am awed. KUDOS to devs. (the starting hero can sometimes die a pretty quick death, but the save/load system is as expected - you can save nearly anytime) I still don't get the "Based on true story", but my history knowledge is pretty below-average. Nevertheless, people, get this game, if for nothing else, then for the encounter-cut-scenes, I love them!

Generally an ok game with easy to understand game mechanics that become somewhat repetitive in time. Graphics are ok, considering its an old engine, that is adequate for the task at hand. Worth the less than dollar price if nothing else to waste some time.

it feels like the dev tried to fit every joke he could into the dialogue and not enough effort into the map naturally leading you to your objectives. Indicative of good potential though

This was a rough gameplay - one of my worst to date, I still don't know what the hell is going on here. The game itself is dialog heavy and the overall aesthetics are from psx1. I cannot recommend this because is not appealing at all and looks like you need to grind to the infinite to get anywhere.

When I first started into this game, I was a bit skeptical. I wasn't sure if I was going to like this game or not. But right off the bad, yes literally in the first 5 minutes of the game, I was so hooked. The Warriorlock is a western-style RPG game that reminds me of the old school Runescape days and I'm loving a lot about this game! First off, I want to go over all the things I love about this game. What drew me in and got me hooked right off that bat was the storytelling and the dialogue. The Warriorlock does a phenomenal job at getting the player immersed into the story. Not only is the story easy to follow, but it is also hilarious. Never have a seen this good of humor in a series style video game. Just how the characters interact with each other makes everything feel so alive. The graphics are so well done too! The characters look and feel real while the environment around you looks like it has had a lot of time and passion put into it. The sounds and music for this game is also very pleasing and fit the tone of the game quite well. I do feel like there needs to be more sounds going on during cutscenes though, they can feel empty sometimes. There are a ton of great things about this game that you definitely have to experience for yourself! On to the things I am not too fond off but can be fixed! First, my biggest issue with the gameplay is the combat system. Not only is it extremely difficult to learn and survive a battle, but getting into battles can be frustrating too. I had an instance where I just finished an encounter and immediately after, without moving a step, was drawn into a new battle. All of the monsters early on are way to powerful I fell. I understand that you are supposed to strategize and use items but the game does not inform the player how to do so, Which brings my to my solution to all this: simply make a detailed tutorial on how to do combat, use items, interact with things, ect. It feels like you are thrown into the game and literally have to learn how to play with every death you sit through. Other than that, my only other concern is the navigation. It can be quite hard to get through certain areas when you don't have a map or do not know where to go in dark caves. Overall, The Warriorlock is incredibly immersive, funny, and well polished game that takes you on thrilling adventures fighting monsters and exploring this well crafted world! Do not get frustrated with the combat, you will learn to master it but for now it feels a little hardcore and unfriendly towards the beginning of the game. This is a great example of a fun, indie RPG and I definitely recommend trying it out, especially since, as the time of writing this, it is on sale!

Game is too old school for its own good. I got past the keyboard only control system. I managed to get my eyes used to the horrid graphics on fullscreen. I even was able to navigate around the 1980's UI. But... I took my team adventuring from the Outpost and got lost in a snowstorm. I mean I got totally lost. No compass. No map of any sort. Each area looks the same.... while snow covered. Spent the next half hour going from one screen to another not knowing if i was getting anywhere, I even somehow managed to get back to the Outpost, but guess what, they wont let me back in! So back to the snow covered maze. Another half hour spent wandering around aimlessly, loading up previous saves as my team was constantly getting annihilated. Rage quit. My gaming time is more important to me than being wasted on this monstrosity.
