What a strange game. Right off the bat, I applaud it for its unconventional genre-bending style and beautiful eclectic graphics + world design; there were parts of it where I would stop and stare with almost child-like wonder at the serene but foreboding, alien yet familiar, and utilitarian but psychotic visuals and world design. This is a game for adults who actually want something different and artistic from their interactive murder and exploration romps. That said, I would probably give it a 7/10 because of some painful and unfortunate design choices: controls are very floaty despite navigation and shooting often requiring great precision, the story is evocative and interesting but refuses to wrap itself up or explain itself on any meaningful level, and we are left to sprint constantly even when a simple walking toggle could at least allow the player to differentiate between running and gunning and appreciating what the dev(s) clearly worked so hard to achieve. (I also thought that some puzzles were badly choreographed but this may be because I’m bad at video games). Having said all that, the world and concept of this game sucked me in and wouldn’t let go, and it will do the same to you if you’re looking for creative originality with an almost endearing bout of indieitis.
