Can't recommend in its current buggy state. Most of the time, the game gets stuck in the initial loading screen. On the rare occasions when it starts, the game frequently loses connection (even during single player campaign) kicking you back to the desktop.

Game is OK, but... the bigest problem with it is that it does not live up to original title. And I am not talking about graphics or physics, but really balancing a game. some of example that are really anoying are: you can only see (and) shoot a person with sniper rifle from distance of some 20 meters. So you shoot ar a person in the head and most likely that person will run into you and shoot with machinegun. there is 0% chance to hit with a rifle if a person is cjust next to you. No grenades. No knifes. Lack of logic in general behavior. In short it is missing some core components that made Jagged Alliance a great game of that time. I will still recomend it for people who did not play original.

I liked orignal JA series and i now its not suposed to be JA 2.0 or anything but game is seriously lacking. Played only few first missions but ... where are my grenades and other explosives ? where is CQC ? Stealth system is very basic and tactical options for missions are very limited. VSS Vintorez (Buns premium equipment) is VERY loud .... thing got integral silencer but noooooo big a@@ red ring with every shot. Ok granted is cheap enough and you can get few hours entertainment out of it. PVE missions are wierd ... merc outfit chasing cheating husbands and biker gangs ? Dark alternative universe or what ? I dont want my money back but i am saddened :(

Genre - Turn based squad combat I was never a massive player of the orignal Jagged Alliance games, but got quite into the online version and enjoy these type of games. They have now released a one off payment version of the same game with added achievements etc. As the price was quite reasonable I thought I'd give it another go. It kept all my progress, which is handy and I have been able to play a couple of missions. The game plays the same as the online version without pesky micro-transactions. You unlock missions across the map as your mercs progress and can upgrade their weapons/armour/ammo with those you buy or find. You also have a mini-base to upgrade, if that takes your fancy. It is a fun turn based game and although there are some limitations like no higher ground or explosions. The combat is still enjoyable and now it can't be accused of being P2W. Although I think they would be silly not to offer some mercs as permanent DLC. Luckily I was able to carry two of mine across already. At a price of £5-£6 I think you should definately get your monies worth for a casual turn based combat game. The developers also appear to be fairly active and hope they will continue to support it. There is also a multiplayer mode if you want to fight other pesky humans, However, I have been told it is isn't the best JA game, so you will have to ask a real fanboy for that.

A fun game that gets increasingly challenging (and a little less linear) as you progress. For long-time Jagged Alliance fans, this is more similar to JA: Deadly Games than JA1 or JA2 due to it's mission based approach. If you buy this expecting an open world, RPG/Strategy game like the classic JA2, you will be disappointed. If you are looking for a well made turn-based strategy game, then JA Online Reloaded might be exactly what you are looking for. Just give it time because the difficulty of the missions, and the quality of the AI, improves after the first dozen or so missions. I also want to quickly say how impressed I have been by the responsiveness of the developers. There was a major issue on launch day that prevented me from playing the game. A developer responded to my query within 30 seconds of asking it and they worked through the night (on a weekend) to fix it.

Cliffhanger Productions-remember the name and avoid it. They abandoned this title in 2018, then released Jagged Alliance: Rage in 2019 under a publisher. Very definition of take the money and run. Don't waste your money on this garbage developer; go purchase Wasteland 2 or 3 by inXile if you want a turn-based spec op tactic game with a solid developer behind it.

I was nostalgic about JA2 so I tried it out. I don't care much for PvP (I'm likely a tiny minority here) so just wanted to try single player and get back into turn-based shooting carnage. And I did enjoy it! The details and variety of the mercs, weapons, armour and crafting options was cool. I like to do a bit of micromanaging anyway. Of course, there's no grand strategy mechanics like in JA2 - just playing bland missions after another. It's a good way to kill time while I'm rendering my videos.

I tried JA:Online when it first came out, whenever that was, and a lot about it was bad. I played for a few hours and decided it was another dead-on-arrival JA game. But... as so rarely happens, the devs fixed the game! No longer do you need to register for an account on some random website, no longer do you need to spend real $ in-game -- in fact, you don't need to spend any money past the purchase price, at all! The game itself is impressively well done. It's different than JA2, but in a lot of good ways. The interface feels smoother, the graphics are relatively sharp. I've only put in about 30 hours as I write this review - but I found myself instantly hooked as soon as I started playing. The Good:

Smooth interface is pleasant to interact with
Gun shop and mercenary hiring interface is intuitive and looks modern
Lots of guns
Same turn based action you loved in other JA games
A lot of original voice and sound samples from JA2
Upgradable base
No magic
Real gun names
The over-the-top stereotypical expressions from mercs
LOTS of different types of missions, with different objectives
Every level or two something new opens up in the game
Pretty good looting, lots of usable items not just garbage
Game is challenging, but relatively forgiving
Replay value to hit all mission bonuses
Some missions have multiple ways to achieve the objective
Online PvP - have yet to actually test this, though
No way to save in case you fuck up, forces more planning
The bad:

No way to save in case you fuck up, limits creativity
Click and drop system gets old fast when adding mercs to missions every time
No one online for PvP but I only tried a few times so far
Not as much humor as JA2
No real gamplay options, such as basics like scrolling sreen with mouse
Not enough cover - sometimes you just have to get shot at, which sucks
No grenades or mines
Very limited destructable environment
Enemies make weird, jerky movements prior to shooting
No prone position
Overall, like someone else said in another review - this is hands down the best JA iteration since JA2 - and for $10 it's a total no-brainer for anyone who enjoyed the older JA games. It's fun, it's addictive and it feels good. If you'd never played the JA series before, it's an awesome - semi-realistic, break from magic and dragons. If you're played the new Shadowrun series, this feels similar, but I would even say a bit more streamlined. Excited to see what else the game has in store, many more hours to come and the ($ spent / hour of entertainment value) ratio is strong!

WARNING: do not buy this game. The servers closed on Nov 30th, 2018 and the game can't be played offline. It had a nice campaign, but nothing works anymore
