Great game. Should be perfect for the Steamdeck, however the controls are just annoying. it always seems to default to selecting the wrong types of goo balls.

Not the worst game ive played, but it dosnt have remotely the same charm that 1 does. chapters 1-3 play like an overly modernized version of the game and it feels forced. Chapter 5 has 4 levels, 3 of which are meh and the 4th barley even qualifies as a level. Chapter 4, with 1 or 2 levels as exception just suck. Its slow, boring, and feels like an insult to the rest of the game, especially one of the lines that is basically just an absurdly slow visual novel. As I said before, its not an absolutely awful game (the first 3 chapters can be good at times) but beyond that and the game as a whole feels very forced and oftentimes boring.

This is literally just the first game but better, this is exactly what a sequel should be

gets boring quick due to the gimmicks, no music "bird" flute on right click, so you waste your time and potentially even risk loosing some goo orbs. multiple times recycling old maps. they could have improved building/choosing the right goo orb (e.g. isolate to see only ballons, only green ones, etc), hold shift to avoid accidentally dropping goo, but it doesn't build on that. it recycles quite an amount of old music too.

As a player of World of Goo this is great; but the noir style section in World 4 is an utter snooze fest and nothing like the rest of the game. If there's a World of Goo 3; don't do that again.

Not quite as engaging as the first game but a fun experience nonetheless. Some level gimmicks I just didn't find fun at all (the gravity cube in world 4 sucks) but at least the skip button is always there so I never got too frustrated. Also the flags are waaaaay overtuned and require almost flawless gameplay (it's a game about gooey balls I don't think it should be this sweaty)

Really nice sequel to the classic. This game has substantially more goo, but keeps a similarly atmospheric vibe. I definitely recommend everyone play both the original and this, they are great bridge/tower/physics games.

I liked 1st game. I did not know 2nd even existed due to it being EGS exclusive. But guess what? It does not matter, game now has timed levels and OCDs are set to ridiculous levels. It is not fun anymore. Creative level designs does not matter if it is no longer fun.

In the first three chapters, the game is solid but unremarkable: the art, music, and level design all feel like a continuation of the original, and the signposts retain their unique charm. However, since the narrative themes aren’t as profound as in the first installment, each chapter’s ending comes across as somewhat flat in comparison. The game’s themes, story, inspiration, and content mainly reside in Chapter 4. Its design, alternating between three distinct level styles, is extraordinarily original, and the audiovisual experience is remarkably impressive. It showcases 2DBoy/Tomorrow Corporation’s signature flair to the fullest. In the finale, the producers share candid reflections on community creators, sequels, and AI, bringing a fitting close to sixteen years of WOG. As a fan who’s replayed World of Goo 1 multiple times over the past decade and a half, I find this sequel very satisfying. It isn’t trying to recreate the shock and awe of the original so much as offering one last farewell to WOG.

I really wanted to like the game since I enjoyed the first one a lot, but I'm just not having fun. The evaluation criteria for the achievements at the end of each level are so strict that it was extremely rare for me to get any, which really takes away the joy of completing them. They have new mechanics and ideas, which is great in theory, but I found none of them to be very intuitive and had to resort to looking up what you are supposed to do several times. The cute graphics, nice music and smart writing are all there, but I'm just getting annoyed and frustrated instead of enjoying my time. If you love physics, digging deep into puzzles and hunting perfection, this might be a good game for you, but if you're looking for the relaxing time you had with the first one, you might end up disappointed.
