Truly enjoyed Adventurous Slime! Even though it's a pretty short game, it's one that was clearly made with a lot of love and passion. The controls were great, the retro pixel art graphics were wonderful and the bosses were all pretty creative. The only negative is that you gain experience at a really slow rate, which makes getting to Level 20 a real chore and one that I decided to skip. Absolutely worth the money though, very fun and makes a great addition to any game library!

Adventurous Slime is a cute bite-sized metroidvania game. In the game, you play as a slime who needs to find and beat Lord Old Skull to help out some witches, and so off you go on your adventure.
In terms of what I enjoyed, the art style is super cute, the music is charming and fits the overall vibe/environment, and the game allows for different paths to be followed. The game didn't overstay its welcome, but it still felt like a full experience. It was nice that enemy drops matched my status in the game (i.e., if I was low on health, an enemy was more likely to drop a health pick-up), but not in a way that felt too hand-hold-y.
In terms of what is neutral, I found the boss fights to be very easy (I played on the default/normal difficulty), with the exception of the second boss which was like 17x more difficult than any other boss (for whatever reason, likely it's a me thing lol).
For what could be improved, I sometimes felt like my physical attack was a little bit difficult to aim properly. It's an attack that moves in an arc and so sometimes it took several tries to get it to hit the way I wanted to to (and usually if I didn't get it the first time, I switched to using my magic attacks which allowed me to attack in more straightforward ways).
I completed the game with 102% completion in just under 2 hours (my game file says 1 hour 52 minutes).
In general, if you're looking for a palate cleanser and/or you want something that has the charm of a Kyle Thompson game mixed with the chill/amusing style of something like Dadish, this is a fun pick. Overall, I really enjoyed my time playing this game.
