I still recommend this DLC, if only for the gorgeous and richly detailed interior of the Cathedral of the Assumption Our Lady and St. John the Baptist. (Although the architecture shown in game is the modern Gothic one, rather than the presumed original Romanesque style.) The questline also scratches a very specific itch for anyone who has read Umberto Eco's The Name of the Rose, and Lord knows Henry must again take up his mantle as Henry of Baskerville once more.
My main criticism of the story line is that it is still fundamentally linear, with the choice between two endings hinging on what appears to be a minor and easily overlooked choice (
namely, if you manage to piss off Zacharias by failing his speech check when he questions you about your forgery attempt
) rather than anything to do with how good you are at playing Sherlock through the extended stealth quests. So fans of The Name of the Rose may come away slightly disappointed that your ability to sneak through the monastery actually have very little to do with the quest progression, even though stealth is a huge part of the gameplay. Ultimately, there is no finis Africae to be uncovered, but at least we can take solace in the story line not ending with the whole place going up in flames... physically, at least.
Gameplay wise, if your Henry is near max level in Speech, Scholarship, and Stealth, you will have an easy time blasting through the quest objectives. My only minor gripe is that not a single laundry can be found in the monastery grounds, so if your Henry is a clean freak make sure to bring some extra changes of high-charisma clothes.

I really enjoyed this DLC's story, characters, and quests, and the new monastery map was fun to explore. We finally get to see inside a church, and this one is beautiful!
Focusing on stealth was the right move here, because many will play this after finishing the main game. At that point, your stats are nearly maxed, and many parts of KCD become too easy. Stealth is one of the few aspects that's always challenging no matter how high your stats are.
The cinematics were lovely and on par with those in the main quest line. In my opinion, this has the highest production values of all the DLCs and would be a solid choice if you only pick one.

I personally liked it. This is very similar to the Monastery section from the first game, although that could be seen as a negative for repetition.
The vibes are cool (especially during the ending sequence), but you can see the story coming from a mile away, with how a particular character is designed.
It is short, although that might be a good thing since you are locked to the DLC location for the entire duration.
The plague/disease does just gets magically cured at the end basically for no reason and with no actions from the player, outside saving the healer you come with.

Of the 3 DLC's this one is my favourite. The story is actually fun and engaging. I loved the tension the whole story gave you.

I'd say it's still a nice addition to the main game, because I really loved the monastery visuals. Maybe I did not get the negative reviews because my character had stealth and thievery skills maxed out, so I ran through the whole DLC without issues. The only issue I had is that the very end of the DLC has some sort of a glitch, that makes you a criminal after the beginning of the boss fight. This made me sneak up on characters to be able to talk to them and actually finish the DLC lol. Other than this setback, a pretty decent detective story, nice visuals and not a particularly long duration. Would feel nice if you loved the detective quests from the main game, because they're built similarly, which means you're gonna have to run through a map a lot

A waste of time an OP boss fight where it glitches and makes you a criminal. Screw the devs for this unpolished trash.

I was a little worried starting this DLC, especially with some of the more negative reviews that it has received, however this was the first one I played after returning to the game to finish all of the DLC.
I was overall pleased with the DLC's story and gameplay. I had just finished another game that I really enjoyed the stealth aspects of, so this was almost a seamless transition, as stealth and thievery are highly needed for this DLC. This is definitely a DLC that needs to be completed after you have leveled and finished the main game storyline (unsure if that is an actual requirement, but I highly recommend.) I'd rank this one 2nd of the 3 that are available. Unlike Brushes with Death, the main character you are helping is actually likable and you can easily become attached to who he is/what he is trying to do for people.
Side note - Don't let your PTSD from the monastery in the first game keep you from this like it initially did for me.

Feels out of place and doesn’t fit into KCD2. While the mystery is fun, sneaking around for 3+ hours felt tedious.
Made for the three people who liked the monastery in KCD1

This has been out for like 8 months now and they haven't fixed the bugs that everyone is talking about.
